I loved the PPA "scallops" inspiration photo above.  You can certainly use it as a starting point (stunning colors, ocean theme) or simply think of it as a reminder to toss in some paper scallops on your project.  That's what I opted to do with the Stampin' Up! Pinking Hearts Border Punch!  I hope they qualify as scallops 🙂

HEAT EMBOSSING "WOW!" VIDEO TUTORIAL!
Heat embossing was the first stamping technique that really "wowed" me.  I love witnessing how the heat turns the matte powder to a raised and shiny finish.  I have had numerous reader requests to do a video on heat embossing basics.  Today's three minute video shares tips that will help you emboss with confidence!

 STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

  • Stampin up stampin pretty video tutorial pink hearts border punch Keep ribbon in it's place.  Learn how with my "No Slide Ribbon Tutorial."
  • Paper Snips give the butterfly it's independence.  A tidbit of Stampin' Dimensionals gives it a lift.  I also used my "snips" to create the flag accent on the sentiment.

  21. Love the white embossing on Kraft! Crisp, C&S card! I also love how you’re geared up for St. Patty’s Day on your blog!!! Very informative tutorial. You’ve been busy….

  22. help….I can’t view the WOW video; I read others are viewing it, but I want to & can’t…..any suggestions? I double click on the x or right click & nothing! Oh, I’m getting depressed, as I can’t have my “Mary WOW video” fix for the day!!

  23. Love the pop of color! The white embossing is the perfect touch!

  24. To Stephanie and Maria: The VersaMark can dry out so you should be ready to add the powder and heat shortly after you stamp. However, there was about a 10 minute delay to set up today’s video from the time I stamped the images in VersaMark to the time I embossed and it worked fine (still plenty sticky to hold the embossing powder). So it’s not like you have to race to get the heat rolling! Hugs, Mary

  25. Great card Mary! I love the colors (Crumb Cake is my favorite).

  26. Good morning Mary: WOW!!!!! This card is just great!!
I have to give the Versa Mark ink a try. I’m always afraid that it will dry to soon. Thanks for the tip on letting your heat gun get hot.
    Maria.

  27. Connie Haselrick

  30. Paper Art Diva Stephanie Daughtrey

Yay! Thanks Mary, I love this video. Question? Do you have to hurry fast to put the powder on the Versa mark? Does it dry really fast or will it stay sticky long enough to put the powder on? Thanks again for the video.

  31. Mary, I love this card! So simple and striking. Embossing is so much fun and I love the look you achieved with the white. This pinking hearts border keeps popping up on things…I think it just moved up on my wish list!
