Ode to Stampin’ Up!’s Oval Punches

Stampin up sunflower
One of my favorite ways to display sentiments is using  Stampin' Up!'s Small and Large Oval Punches.  They layer neatly and elegantly.  Tr?s cool with the three dimensional look of a Stampin' Dimensional or two sandwiched in between.  However, these little beauties can multi-task and made today's sunflower pretty and precise.

The card base is Chocolate Chip (4.25 x 5.5).  I inked the Print Pattern Background stamp in Chocolate Chip and stamped it on Barely Banana Card Stock.  The "happy birthday" sentiment is inked and stamped using the same colors.  I matted the sentiment on Chocolate Chip.

Six Large and five Small Oval Punches were snapped out of Barely Banana Card Stock.  TIP:  The edges were sponged in Chocolate Chip to add texture and so that they would stand out against the strong background.  A Chocolate Chip circle was cut with Nestabilities circle die-cuts and embossed using a Cuttlebug.

TIP:  I assembled and adhered the "petals" to the Print Pattern Background image and then cut off the left hand surplus for a straight edge.  A few Barely Banana Brads seemed like the perfect highlight for the flower center.

Sunflower in a Snap 🙂
