Happy, Happy Stamping

Stampin_up_happy_happy_2
As promised, I'm kicking off a series of projects showcasing some delicious stamps and accessories in Stampin' Up!'s Mini Occasions Catalog, available through June 30.  Today's card gets its color inspiration from this week's Splitcoast Stamper Color Challenge (CC164), using  Soft Sky, Purely Pomegranate and Basic Black.

I started with the adorable bicycle from the Time For You set, stamped in Basic Black.  A blender pen dipped in Purely Pomegranate and Soft Sky allowed me to add some living color.  TIP: Give your ink pad a squeeze before opening it.  You will get a small pool of ink to work with on the inside lid when you open.  This is what I work from when I'm using a blender pen or Aqua Painter.  Just the right amount.

By stamping only the top of the bicycle stamp (the flower area) again, I created some options for a little 3-D of popping flowers.  I colored five flowers and punched them out with a 1/4" Circle Punch.  The were then added to the card.  I dotted each flower center with some sparkle from a Sakura Gelly Pen.

This parallels with the "happy, happy" wheels from It's All Good, stamped in Purely Pomegranate ink on Whisper White card stock.  They were shaped with a 3/4" Circle Punch and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I next matted the image on layers of Purely Pomegranate and Basic Black card stock.

The card base is Soft Sky Textured (dimensions 5 x 5").  TIP: Given the richness of Stampin' Up!'s textured card stock, I consider it for every card base.  On top is a layer of Afternoon Tea Designer Series Paper (lovely double sided patterns of soft and pretty prints, exclusive to the Occasions Mini).  Purely Pomegranate arrives next.  They are wrapped together with a quick accent of some Purely Pomegranate Double Stitched Ribbon.  Very sweet.

The "Birthday" sentiment is from Fundamental Phrases.  I snapped it out with a Word Window Punch and gave it some "legs" with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Hugs and Happy, Happy . . . . M
