I used the rectangle die from the Sliding Door Framelits Dies to create the Melon Mambo frame on today’s birthday card. Such a versatile die set. Remember the sliding barn door card I created earlier this week here?
STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:
The outside measurement of the Melon Mambo frame is 4 1/4″ x 3 1/4″. I used the Big Shot Magnetic Platform to keep the rectangle die in place, centered on the Melon Mambo card stock, during it’s journey through the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.
Instant WOW! I used a Stampin’ Up! Sponge Dauber to add Melon Mambo ink to the lower portion of “celebrate” for a subtle ombre effect.
Celebrate and You were die cut with the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies, a Level 2 FREE gift with an order of $100 or more before shipping and tax during Sale-A-Bration. Learn more about Sale-A-Bration here.
Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals support the frame. I cut them in half for lifting “celebrate” and “you” to the height of the frame.
I love pretty paper. How about you? The black and white patterns of Petal Passion Designer Series Paper (one of My Favorite Things) provide a beautiful contrast to Melon Mambo. Get a close up look at the new Occasions and Sale-A-Bration paper patterns here.
Another pattern from Petal Passion Designer Series Paper dresses up the Whisper White Medium Envelope flap. I adhered it to the flap and snipped the excess with my Paper Snips

I love this card! That Melon Mambo color is fantastic and the simple design makes it all work so well.
That’s why it’s Simple Saturday 🙂 Thanks, Karren.
This card is GORGEOUS, Mary! I love the pink-and-black combo, and the paper makes a beautiful frame for your wonderful sentiment. Perfection!
Thanks, Brian. You know how much I love black and Melon Mambo together!
Mary, This is a very pretty Card. I like how you I remind us to use our Framlets for other sets. You are amaz night. Have a great day,Ellen Hinds
absolutely . . . there’s so much more mixing of dies possible . . . just need to experiment. thanks for stopping by, Ellen.
Love the style and beauty of this card!
I experimented until I found the right background paper. Some of the designs felt too big (lost in the small space where it shows). This leaf pattern felt “just right!” Thanks, Stella.
Love this card, Mary.
Thanks, HJ. It’s simple and easily changed with different color schemes!
I’m thinking this just might be the most PERFECT birthday card EVER! Melon Mambo and Black are DELISH together. Thanks for sharing!

Absolutely LOVE this card, and the way you used the barn door framelit was great! That is one of the things I love about your blog. You show us unique and unusual ways to use our supplies.
That’s music to my ears, Carole. I hope to do another ombre style and a video to show how fun and easy it is.
Beautiful layout and color combination.
Thanks so much, Marlene. I love the “floating” sentiments!
