Season Like Christmas Stamp Set

Learn how to create a simple Christmas card using Stampin Up Season Like Christmas Stamp Set - Mary Fish StampinUp

The beauty of the Stampin’ Up! Season Like Christmas Photopolymer Stamp set is in the layering.  Consider shades of green for a traditional look, pinks for a soft and feminine look, blues (“Blue Christmas,” anyone?) or even grays, like I used today.

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • I first stamped the most solid tree image (far left in the stamp set above) in Smoky Slate.  The more detailed tree image (center above) and trunk were layered on top in Basic Gray.

  • The sentiment was cropped with my Big Shot using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  I adore the “stitched” border.
  • I’ll share a 1 Minute to WOW! Video Tutorial with you tomorrow with tips on using the Season Like Christmas Photopolymer Stamp Set.

  • For pops of color, I added Real Red 1/8″ Solid Ribbon, dots (for ornaments) and a heart on the sentiment (Brights Enamel Dots).

  • The stitched pattern on the envelope flap is from Quilted Christmas 6 x 6  Designer Series Paper (also retiring).  I adhered it to the flap and snipped away the excess with my Paper Snips.  Here’s a video with tips.

  1. I’m so glad you found me, Belinda. I actually hesitated on getting this stamp set and it ended up being one of my favorites!

  2. Hi Mary. This card is so simple, yet elegant. I was looking for samples to make a mass production of cards using the Season Like Christmas stamp set, and your tutorial popped up. Thank you so much for sharing. Love your colors and the option to use other coordinating colors.

  3. Do you have anything stamped inside the card? Also…. I have been wondering: wold to it be easier to put DSP inside of the envelope, rather than having to glue it and cut it when using it on the flap??

    • I typically write a message, Lisa. However, this stamp set has coordinating sentiments so I have the option. Regarding the designer series paper . . . we used to carry a die that would perfectly crop the DSP so you could insert it on the inside of the envelope. However, that die (actually a set of dies) retired. I feel it’s much harder to do the inside vs. follow the lines of the flap. Thanks for asking. I’m here to help.

    • Happy to help, Jennifer. From bottom to top layer: Whisper White Card base 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″, Smoky Slate 4″ x 5 1/4″, Real Red 3 3/4″ x 5″, Whisper White 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″. Essentially each layer is 1/4″ smaller/larger.

  4. This Smoky Slate and Real Red combination makes my heart skip a beat. I love this card, Mary! Such an amazing showcase of this set. <3

  5. Mary, are you a graduate from THE OSU? Any one from Ohio follows Our team and this fits right in for all us Ohioians. Love it. Merry Christmas. Ruby

    • Thanks, Ruby. I graduated from the University of WI, Madison. Red and White . . . so almost!

  6. Simply stunning! I can see using this with the Stamparatus! I’m hoping Stampin Up offers just the red enamel dots one day so I can mass-produce this card. This is gorgeous! Rene’

    • Great point on the dots. I use my dots first, then hearts and stars. Of course, the real red hearts go fast. Thanks for your kindness Rene and suggestion.

  7. Great to hear, Wanda. Once it’s light out, I’ll work on the video for tomorrow with tips!

  8. I’m so excited to see you used this set for todays card. I purchased this set because I really liked the sentiments but just couldn’t figure out what to do with it. I have a few more cards to make and I will be casing this one for sure! I also love your color chose. Thank you!!
    Happy Monday. -Wanda

  9. Almost any color combination looks beautiful with 2 step stamping. I’m a fan of grays and red for the holidays. Thanks, Kadie!

  10. I’m in LOVE with your color selection for this tree. And the red enamel shapes just puts this card OVER THE TOP!

  11. Oh MsMary, what a beautiful card , , that cute little heart looks so cute on it …. perfect ♥️
    Hugs Frenchie

    • Thanks a bunch, Frenchie. I realized I was out of hearts in my Bright Enamel Dots and had to swoop it from another card. Placed my order for more!
