Snow Place is a simply adorable photopolymer stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! 2015 Holiday Catalog. This dapper penguin said “ink me first!”
My sketch for this week was inspired by this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (MOJO414).
STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:
- I loved the simplicity of cropping the stamped penguin with a coordinating die. Ditto on his handsome scarf and both popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- It’s a beautiful thing. Save 15% when you purchase the Snow Place stamp set and the 15 coordinating dies as a bundle.
- The stamped snowflakes twinkle with Stampin’ Up! Rhinestone Basic Jewels. For balance, I added a rhinestone to the penguin’s scarf.
- I love this clean, holiday mix of Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Basic Black!

Simply adorable! I am soooooo not ready for snow! 😉
I’m all about stamping and making cards about snow . . . just not living in it anymore!
That “dapper penguin” has been patiently waiting to be inked up at my house too, I think today is the day…thanks for the inspiration! Adorable card!
And then the snowman, Jan!
I am just in love with that little penguin. This card is just darling. Awesome job
I think he’s a pretty handsome guy, too, Robbye!
Such a cute pengy and I love the colors you used too!! :>)
So adorable, Mary! Love the bling on his scarf.
Thanks for the perfect sketch to show him off, Julee!
I love this card. Can I case this for my Christmas card class please?
It’s not only OK, Joyce. It’s an honor. The measurements are in a comment above (in case that’s helpful).
Mary – this card could not be cuter! I love the color combination of Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake – perfect for this stylish guy!
MsMary, what a cute little guy !!!!! Love him , love the colors !!!
Tfs,
Hugs Frenchie !
Thank you for your kind comments. Big smile!
Hello Mary – I am from Germany and I stumbled on your blog. I only want to say, that I love your card 🙂 Beautiful layout and colors! (please forgive my really bad english ;))
I understand you perfectly.
Love this card. Can’t wait to show it to my hubby. He’s a serious penguin junkie. 🙂
I’m wondering if you would be willing to share the sizes of the card stock layers behind the penguin? This card is so stinkin’cute! Thanks for always blowing me away with your talent.
Thanks, Tricia. Measurements are approximate. Starting with the layer below the Penguin (top to bottom) width x height:
Whisper White 2 x 2 3/8″
Cherry Cobbler Banner 2 1/2″ x 2 5/8″
Crumb Cake 3 1/8″ x 2 1/2″
Basic Black 3 3/4″ x 1 1 2″
Whisper White 3 3/4″ x 5
Cherry Cobbler 4″ x 5 1/2″
Crumb Cake card base: 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
Thank you so much!! My son adores penguins so I am going to CASE your card for him. Love the layout. Thanks again for always sharing your inspiring projects with us!
Mary I truly love this holiday card! Your right the colors are awesome together.
What an adorable little guy. Looking forward to playing with this set this week.
You do continually inspire with your talent! This color combo is just fabulous! We don’t get snow down here in Baton Rouge, La., but we love to dream….thx for making it possible.
Good question, Marlene. I used my snips to make a shallow cut in the middle of the banner. Then lined up and cut from each corner to the top of the cut. Pretty easy as long as you keep your eye (and snips) on the corner and top of the cut.
Thanks so much!
Great card!! It’s simply wonderful – love everything about it! Did you use anything to make the banner/pennant piece or was it cut by hand?
This little penguin is OH SO CUTE!! Dressed to “chill”! LOL! Love how you wrapped him with that little scarf and topped it off with a rhinestone! I agree with Trish! I’m always totally amazed with your simple yet powerful designs!!! LOVE IT!
Did you say you loved this card, Kadie? LOL. I really enjoyed using Snow Place stamp set and the Snow Friends dies. Great look with a smile for young and old!
This is one of those cards that stopped me in my tracks. LOVE every single thing about your card. Going to share with Hailey and I’m sure she will want to make some for her friends this Christmas. (Did I tell you how much I LOVE this card?)
Thank you both for stopping by. I appreciate your sweet feedback so much!
You continually amaze me with your simple but powerful designs. Thank you for sharing. Love this card:)
Love your card…layout…colors!
