Harvest of Thanks for Mojo Monday

Ramp up your paper crafting with this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (MOJO306).  Frankly, I initially struggled with this sketch.  TIP . . . when in doubt EDIT!  I learned this nugget of wisdom from Tim Gunn on Project Runway.  Any other “Runway” junkies out there?  I pulled off some bling that was competing with the Antique Brad, moved the sentiment to the top (love how it mirrors the curve of the circle) and found less is best!

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • Stampin’ Up! Harvest of Thanks stamp set has an attitude of gratitude.  I love the weathered look, especially when paired with crisp colors and simple elements.

  • A touch of paper piercing on the Pumpkin Pie flagged ends is a quick and easy WOW! factor.  The Stampin’ Up! Occasions Paper Piercing Pack offers templates that make perfect placement a snap.
  • The turkey stamp is designed to coordinate with the Stampin’ Up! Deco Labels Collection Framelits.  I used three of the Deco Framelits on this card.

  1. Mary, what a wonderful card and take on the sketch! I would never have thought to use aqua on a Thanksgiving card but it looks great with the browns and orange. That sure is a pretty brad too! Thanks for the story of how your card ended up different than how you had it. Although I usually have to add more instead of taking off. After seeing your Thanksgiving card I think I need to start on my own fall cards. Thanks so much for the inspiration.

  2. Great card Mary, perfect use for that set. I didn’t notice until just now that we used the same DSP set.

  3. ooh Lala , pretty Ms Mary , love those fall colors , and that stamp set , on my list soon !!
    hugs frenchie

  4. Mary, this is a gorgeous card with a unique color combo! Love the little piercing details…going to have to put that pack on my wish list!

  5. Might just have to purchase this set. Think your card is very attractive and screams FALL to me.

  6. Beautiful card, Mary. I don’t think I could have thought about adding the blue shade of paper to a Thanksgiving card but you just blew me away with this combination, I love it!! Thank you for showing me other color possibilities to use when I make my Thanksgiving cards.

  7. Gorgeousness! Nice to see these Coastal Cabana shades with Pumpkin Pie, beautiful!
