It’s almost like waving a magic wand. Make a simple crop to a Scallop Square and convert it into many sized scallop rectangles. Luscious for layering.
The Pumpkin Pie scallop square on today’s card began as 3″ x 3″ and ended up as 3″ x 2 3/4″ to accommodate the shape of the Sunshine single stamp. Watch my new 1 Minute to WOW! Video Tutorial for a variety of ways to use this little trick.
STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:
- I cropped the front of the card base to 2 7/8″ wide.
- The Marina Mist Polka Dot pattern (Stampin’ Up! Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper) lines the exposed area of the interior.
- This cute dinnerware from Target inspired my color scheme.
- There are many ways to hide the “seam.” I opted for a banner on my card above but you could also use ribbon as in this example:
- I removed the 3 center scallops from the Scallop Square to create this 3″ x 2 1/8″ rectangle. I used one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies (127003) to crop the “Thanks” sentiment (Oh, Hello stamp set).
- Love the bold design of the Sunshine single stamp? Assortments 3 and 4 of the Stampin’ Up! Single Stamps Collection (including the Sunshine stamp) expire after 3/31. Be sure to purchase before it’s too late! UPDATE (3/30): Due to popularity, these collections of single stamps have been extended and will be available thru 7/31//13.

WOW!!! is right Mary. Love your idea. You always think outside the box and create endless possibilities. I love looking for your ideas everyday.
What are the measurements of the card itself, can’t tell by photo! Now that the single stamps are going to be available for a longer period can use some ideas, and yours are the Best! Thanks and God Bless
Clever idea, Chris R.!
Wow, is right! So many great tips in your little video today. I just received mine today after seeing your adorable cards recently. Can’t wait to play with the dies. Fun color combination on the card too. The snippet from the red probably could back a word window or another shape of greeting! Thanks Mary for such great ideas.

tfs,

hugs frenchie ,
Get out! This is a much easier and faster way than what I thought you were going to demo! I just fell in love with that other single stamp all about birthdays.
Love the color combination!!!
I love how some people have the ability to think outside the box. You guys see a die or a punch and the wheels start turning in your minds to find different ways to use those tools. I love this tip Mary and also Rachel’s tip, both are awesome. This card is so pretty, the colors are so Spring Time, this is what we are needing real bad up here in NW Indiana, Winter doesn’t seem to be in any kind of a hurry to leave!!
Mary, I love your card! I had to smile though – I saw the same Target ad and thought that page would make a cool card somehow – and what would Mary do with it – now I know!! 🙂
Hi Mary! Love your quick videos, they’re perfect for someone like me in a hurry! Did you know that you can also put your die cut back on the die (moving it along a scallop or two) and run it through the Big Shot again to make a smaller scalloped rectangle? Just use some removable tape (or a post it note or two) to hold the shape in place the second time. Just thought I’d share another way to do this – then you have no join to hide!
Thanks for all the inspiration!
