Fall Flair with Flowering Flourishes

Stampin up stampinup stamp it card ideas demonstrator punch catalog blog

Even though we may feel like we are being bombarded by catalogs for the fall and winter holidays right now, I’m finding loads of inspiration among the pages.  The table runner on the bottom of the Pier 1 catalog page below was my inspiration for today’s card.  What do you think of my version?

  • Flowers cropped with the Boho Blossoms Punch “dress up” the stamped image from Stampin’ Up! Flowering Flourishes.

  • I used small circles created with my Cupcake and Owl Builder Punches to accent the dotted patterns.
  • Strips of card stock and designer series paper mimic the stripes on the table runner.  It’s a wonderful way to recycle scraps, too!

  1. I love your dressed up flourish with the punched flowers and circles. Your regal strips are perfect too. I have also been inspired by my pile of catalogs 🙂
BTW, this weeks CAS189 on SCS is great for scraps too.

Thanks again Mary for always inspiring……

  2. i like the table runner, too. thanks for your kind feedback. you really keep me inspired in return! i sent this card to my daughter without measuring it. the dimensions are approximately 3.5 x 6. i put it in a cello bag (vs. an envelope) and sent it to her with a treat to congratulate her on finishing her math class (yep, for the entire semester–i’m so proud) early. all she has left is the final in december. woot! hugs, m

  3. Mary, You are so talented. This is so pretty.
I can not believe you can look at a catalog and come up with a beautiful card. Happy Stamping Mary.

  4. Oh Mary! I absolutely love this. Not only do I want to go buy that table runner, but I wish I was at home so I could make this card too! Can’t wait to case it! Thanks for sharing.

  5. Mary – I’m always amazed how you can duplicate magazines and catalogs. I never think to look there for inspiration. I too would love the dimensions. Also, on others as well. Even though I’ve stamped awhile I still feel like a novice. So just a question – why don’t you list your dimensions of cut pieces on your cards? It would make it so much easier for a novice such as myself. You truly have one of the best websites!! Have a great day to all!!!!

  6. The sentiment on the card says it all… YOU are simply wonderful, Mary! This is a great card and the colors are stunning. Love how you popped up that boho blossom punch flower…just so pretty! Thanks for sharing!

  7. Sigh…that’s what this card made me do, it is just beautiful with the color combinations and simplicity. Thanks for sharing.

  8. OOOH Ms Mary , BEAUITIFUL , I love those Fall colors , Fall colors are my fav !!

  10. Beautiful card! I love how you show us your inspiration. I’m going to be looking at my Pier 1 catalog more closely! I, too, would love to know the dimensions of the card.

  11. Great color combination and creative use of your punches! I think that would look terrific on a scrapbook page as well, one for Thanksgiving.

  12. I love this, Mary 🙂 You are spot on with the catalog. I really like how you covered up or re-colored some of the dots in the stamp image with a different color…adds so much to the stamp image. Have a great day!

  13. Once again you’ve made me take a second look at a stamp set that I had probably only glanced at previously. Diabolical! I will be ordering it. Great card and a super reminder that ideas come from many sources.

  14. Love this clean and simple cards, Mary. This colors are kind of gearing towards Fall, my favorite time of the year.
PS. I tried to say the title of this post at 5:15 am. and it was hard, although it was before my fist cup of coffee.

  15. Beautiful Mary – love those colours. Try saying your post title when you’ve had a few too many glasses of wine though!
