Incredible definition and stunning results! Today's post shares a sneak peek at the Large Paper Doily Sizzlits Die, which will be available when the Occasions Mini Catalog is released Jan. 4, 2012. I was fortunate as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator to receive it as a gift at Founder's Circle. At 4" in diameter, this doily will actually work with a saucer and teacup! However, I'm totally digging a variety of uses in papercrafting!
STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:
- I cropped 1 1/4" off the right front of the card for added character. The sentiment extends into "space," producing a striking, bold line.
- I used the Circle Scissor Plus to cut a perfect 4" Daffodil Delight Circle. It's a colorful effect tucked behind the Basic Gray doily.
- A Whisper White 2 1/2" Circle is layered beneath the center of the doily.
- The doily's intricate design shouldn't compete with a lot of embellishments. A single Glmmer Brad in the top right is plenty.
- Yep, the bedspread below (CB2) signaled my right brain to start creating this card!

Love it! Thank-you so much for the sneak peek! I was super disappointed when there wasn’t a doily die in the July cattie.
JUST lovely! thank-you for the sneak peek! i had no idea something like that would be coming! how exciting, such a pretty card! interesting colour combo!
That is beautiful. I want to turn my 2nd bedroom those colors. I keep seeing that color combo since I’ve decided so it’s reassuring. 🙂
Great card. I love your color choices.
You are so creative Mary – great card and thanks for sharing!
I am already so unproductive in the normal routine household world! Facebook would be the final straw…. LOL
Well, I definitely liked you before, but I “like” you on Facebook! I didn’t think about you having a FB page so thanks for the heads up!
Another beauty, Mary! I have become a fan of dies and am looking forward to this one in January!

could you please tell me what designer magazines you get?
Thanks!
Another must have tool for creating!
My favorite use of the letter press plates is to layer them with versamark, stamp and then heat emboss. Hugs, M
To Debbie M. Yes, yes, yes! There’s inspiration everywhere–often in the least expected places. You just gave me an idea for a new Facebook discussion. Headed there to post right now! http://www.facebook.com/stampinpretty
Celia . . . the bedspread (I know you are mad for yellow) is CB2 (part of Crate and Barrel). They send me their catalogs and I rip out the pages! Hugs, M
Great suggestion, Katy. Confections and cookies . . . at 4″ in diameter, it can handle it!
Very nice! I c.an see many possibilities with that doily. thanks for the sneak peek.
Oh Mary, you have certainly peeked my interest in this doily coming out in the next small catalog. WOW!!!! U are a tease. LOL Looking forward to this next mini for sure now. Thanks for the wonderful card. I am trying to look at things around me to inspire cards as u did. Not always easy. But u sure help me alot. ekc
HELLO…. Cannot wait to get my hands on the large doily doe!!! Would also work well with a plate of confections and, thus, perfect for an afternoon tea! Too bad it is not available for Christmas cookie exchanges, but Valentine Day will be just around the corner after it is available. Thanks for the sneak peek….. 🙂
Wow that doily makes a statement! Love how you used it!
What a cool card! Love the doily and your peek a boo colors really set it off! Such a talent you are Mary! You continue to inspire us all! Thanks for sharing!
Oh so want this-January will be hear before we know it 🙂
LOL My favorite colors! And in a love note! And let’s talk about that bed covering girlfriend …. WHERE did you find THAT? This is a darling card, Mary. If you want to swap this with me at Leadership I certainly won’t object to the number of doilies I get. 😀
wow, I heard there would be a new doily die (and a sizzlet, too? how great is that!) but this is the first time I’ve seen it used on a card. This is an incredible die, can’t wait for the Occasions Mini preorder…we’ll be “doily-ed to death” on our swaps at Leadership!
I so have a love hate with your blog. love everything you do but hate how we don’t have this stuff in Australia, so frustrating as a fellow demo.
Wow! So beautiful! I’ll have to put this on my list!!! Thanks for sharing with us. I love your website!
OOOH La la! Wow! That is fantastic! I cannot wait!
I love how you wrapped elegant and bold into the same package with this card, beautiful! This die is sure to be a winner, can’t wait!
Mary,
This is simply stunning! Can’t wait to get it for myself.
BTW, I thought you might enjoy what happened to me yesterday. While I was working, I suddenly started seeing cards made out of the colors that I was seeing women wearing. My co-workers thought I was going crazy as I am writing on small post-its things like, “Razzlebery, Navy, Pumpkin Pie, Teal.” I think I am officially obsessed with cardmaking!
Thanks for always being a great inspiration!
Debbie
Can’t wait until these are released in January. I’m a big fan of embossing folders, Im curious what or How would I used the textured letter press plates are they similar to folders. Don’t know anyone locally that has them Thanks Brenda
Oh, Mary! I love this die!! And you said it’s a sizzlet…don’t think I have seen one this big before. How exciting! Thanks for sharing with us 🙂
Ah! Love the thought of this cropped card! Enjoying your crisp work Mary!
