Earlier this week, I confessed on my Stampin' Pretty Facebook page that my most "neglected" Stampin' Up! color is Bashful Blue. Please don't "boo" me if this is your favorite. LOL! I challenged those who participated in the discussion to try dusting off their least favorite color and give it a "go." I did the same with today's Bashful Blue card!

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:
-
Bashful Blue makes a strong contrasting background for a black silhouette image.
- Line up brads with precision using a Paper Piercer and Paper Piercing Template (Stampin' Up! Mat Pack). Here's a quick video demonstration.
- The 3/16" Corner Punch rounds opposing corners. A simple but elegant touch on a quick card.
- Experiment. I got better coverage and a blacker black with the Jet Black Stazon vs. Basic Black Classic Ink.

I finally got around to CASEing this card although I don’t think I did it justice at all!
Crystal –
I used Stampin’ Up!’s 3/16″ Corner Rounder (item#119871) to round the edges of the cardstock.
Hugs, M
That stamp set is one of my very favorites! I love the crisp look you created with this card. Bashful Blue gets neglected here a lot also. Thanks for the inspiration!
Wow this is stunning.
Wow!!! This is a stunner. I love when you add black to your cards… and this one is beautiful. I love that little black touch you added to your sentiment, you know I’ll have to do that too. *smile* I always think Bashful Blue and men, not anymore. Hugs,
What a beautiful card! Everyone is right, the contrast is something you just can’t pass by, it’s great!
I have one question…perhaps very obvious, but what did you use to curve the corners on the card stock on the top right and bottom left?
-Crystal
well, ya did good Mary! 🙂
love your blue card!
it is one of my favorites!
Bashful Blue just needed to wear that “basic black dress” to look gorgeous!
Mary, one of the things I most love about your creations, is the colors you find that go so well together. This card is gorgeous! I am not a “blue” person usually, but with the white and black, it’s really striking! TFS Hugs, Bobbi
What a beautiful CAS card. I still haven’t even inked up this stamp set – now I think I will and CASE this!
Very pretty, Mary. I haven’t done anything with the yellows yet but I’m inspired.
i do have to admit, this is a neglected color in my palette as well..but, a few years ago it was one of my GO to colors…love your card!!
Gorgeous! Love the black with the blue, and the layout is so inviting!
You do “blue” so well! Lovely card!
While I didn’t “boo” you when I read your original post about not liking bashful blue, I did scratch my head. How can you not like bashful blue? One of my favorite color combinations is bashful blue and chocolate chip. I like the way you paired it with basic black. I will have to try that combo. Lovely card…how do you like the result?
Looks great! And with your classic, clean style. I struggle with Soft Suede. It just doesn’t look good to me, like old coffee. Any suggestions for using it would be appreciated. I do love Chocolate Chip.
The black is the perfect accent color to make Bashful Blue “pop”! Very pretty!
Thank you so much, W! The sentiment is 2 3/8″ wide x 11/16″ tall. I used the smallest oval punch to add the little “tab” on the right. Hugs, M
Using black staz on is a great tip for these solid images. The contrast between bashful blue and black is eye catching. And thanks for the push to step outside our comfort zone with color.
You did GREAT with Bashful Blue!
oooh – love the bb with black! Great job!
Hmmm … excellent challenge and your card is beautiful. I will definitely be giving this one an a try. TFS!
Its a beautiful card! The black stands out on your Bashful blue nicely!
You sure make bashful blue look good! I love the amazing contrast you achieved. I never would have thought of pairing it with black. Nicely done. What dimension is your sentiment? I never know how large or small to make mine – most of mine are done digitally. Thanks for sharing!
