Simple Happy Birthday Card with Color Blocking

Create this birthday butterfly card using the Brilliant Wings Dies from Stampin' Up! Card by Mary Fish, Stampin' PrettySIMPLE COLOR BLOCKS!  Today’s creation uses one of the Bumblebee Color Combinations I shared on Tuesday’s post. So Saffron, Bumblebee, and Pumpkin Pie blocks of color set the canvas for this card.

Create this butterfly Happy Birthday card using the Brilliant Wings Dies from Stampin' Up! Card by Mary Fish, Stampin' PrettySTAMPIN’ PRETTY STEP-BY-STEP TUTORIAL:

Begin with a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Bumblebee card base.

Adhere a 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 piece of Basic Black card stock as shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Adhere a 4 x 4 1/2 piece of Basic White card stock with Stampin’ Seal.

Use a Paper Trimmer to cut the following blocks of card stock: 

  • So Saffron – 4 x 1 1/4
  • Bumblebee – 4 x 1 3/4
  • Pumpkin Pie – 4 x 1 1/4

Create this birthday card using the Brilliant Wings Dies from Stampin' Up! Card by Mary Fish, Stampin' Pretty

Adhere to the card as shown with Stampin’ Seal.

Crop a piece of Basic White card stock using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (Standard or Mini) and the largest Layering Circles Die.  

Adhere to the center of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Crop a piece of Bumblebee card stock with the largest detailed butterfly (Brilliant Wings Dies) and a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (Standard or Mini).

Adhere as shown with snipped-to-size Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals

Create this color block birthday card using the Brilliant Wings Dies from Stampin' Up! Card by Mary Fish, Stampin' Pretty

Use a Stamparatus to stamp the sentiment in Versamark Ink onto a piece of Basic Black card stock.  Cover with White Basics Embossing Powder.  Set with a Heat Tool. 

Trim to size with a Paper Trimmer, approx. 2 7/8 x 3/8.

Adhere with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals

POP OF PERSONALITY! Embellish the the butterfly with black Classic Matte Dots.
