Winter, Spring, Summer or Falling Leaves . . .

Create a simple thank you card using Stampin Up Falling Leaves & Detailed Leaves Thinlits Dies - Mary Fish StampinUp Idea

The Falling Leaves stamp set and Detailed Leaves Thinlits Dies immediately grabbed my attention in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog (starts Sept. 5) for their sophisticated elements and year round versatility.

STAMPIN’ PRETTY STEP-BY-STEP TUTORIAL:

Create a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base using Thick Whisper White card stock and the Stampin’ Trimmer.

Stamp “thankful” from Falling Leaves stamp set in VersaMark ink on a 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 piece of Blueberry Bushel card stock.  Heat emboss “thankful” using the Stampin’ Up! Heat Tool and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

Adhere “thankful” layer to a 3 3/4 x 4 3/4 piece of Pineapple Punch card stock and adhere both layers to the card base.  I used Snail Adhesive.

Crop the center of a 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 piece of Thick Whisper White card stock using the rectangle die from Sliding Barn Framelits Dies, the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine and Magnetic Platform (for keeping the die centered).  Adhere to the Blueberry Bushel layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals for a 3-D “frame” effect.

Crop the detailed leaf from Detailed Leaves Thinlits Dies using Thick Whisper White card stock, the Big Shot and Precision Base Plate (for best results with detailed thinlits dies).  Use the Big Shot Die Brush to remove the die cut from the die cleanly.  Adhere the leaf to the frame as shown after carefully dabbing Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the two lower leaves.

Embellish it!  Tie a bow with Blueberry Bushel 1/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon and adhere with a Glue Dot as shown.  Add three Pineapple Punch self-adhesive dots from Best Route Enamel Shapes.

Crop a Blueberry Bushel polka dot pattern from the 2018-2020 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper collection using the Big Shot and liner die from Beautiful Layers Thinlits Dies.  The liner is 1 7/8″ high from center.  Adhere to the outside envelope flap of a Medium Whisper White Envelope using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Here’s my video with more tips on how to do this (at about the 2 minute mark).
