If you haven't already, meet the Joy-Fold card. It's essentially a large and small card intersecting with each other. They are fun, unique and seriously quick to make. These two cards (a holiday version is below) are my first attempts (hence, the "triumphant" in the title) but I can see myself making many more.
My first card shares Sneak Peeks from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog. This includes Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper (12 x 12 jumbo pad with 48 double sided sheets), the Small Heart Punch, I {Heart} Hearts and Well-Scripted Clear Mount Stamp sets. These sneak peek items will be available when the customer sales period for the Occasions Mini begins Jan. 5.
- My original resource for the Joy-Fold card was on Splitcoaststampers. Click here for details (if you are an SCS member) OR
- For large (A2) card, cut card stock to 4 1/4 x 8 1/2. Score at 5 1/2".
- Cut and adhere 4 x 5 1/4" Designer Series Paper to the interior and 4 x 2 3/4" for the outside (left) panel.
- For small card, cut card stock to 3 x 8 (I whittled this down slightly for the first card–you can play with the size). Score at 4".
- Add 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" Designer Paper to the outside of the small card (or adjust 1/4" smaller than the size of the folded card if you play with the size).
- Slide and adhere the small card underneath the "friend" heart (first card) or Ornament Punch (second card–lots of alternate options here for creating a "latch"). I anchored each with Stampin' Dimensionals under the left side, propping it up and keeping the right side open to close.
- The "friend" stamp was cropped with the Full Heart Punch (I looooove coordinating punches) and the small Old Olive Heart (top right of the small card) was cropped with the new Small Heart Punch (Occasions Mini). Click here for details on the new Stampin' Up! Punch Design.

Muchas gracias por esta publicacion.
Thanks so much for sharing this! Your cards are lovely and the directions to re-create the gate-fold were very easy to follow! Here is my take on a gate fold card- the first one Ihave done, and I have to say I went back to yours after I was all done and there was the “ooooh, she also did……thats a great idea!” I will definately make more of these!

I cannot wait to make this card- hopefully I can follow the technique. They are all beautiful, but my favorite is the pink and brown with the birthday cake. Wish me luck!!!
I have to say love the paper the most! The colors are great and really fresh for spring. You do fanstastic work!
I’m seriously addicted to making joy fold cards! I love it, can’t believe how easy they are!
Oh I can’t wait to make this card!!! Yours are awesome Mary… the first one is in my favorite colors. I love that Sweet Pea DSP. Hugs and Merry Christmas.
Hmmmm not sure what I like better – these gorgeous cards or that wonderfully punny title of your post!
Absolutely stunning! This caught my eye on SCS yesterday too!
What a difference a fold makes! Absolutely LOVE the second card!! Don’t you need victory music on que when you finish a challenge like this, when you weren’t sure of the outcome? You know…”We are the Champions” or the theme from “Rocky”? Ok…now you’ve got me jumping around to take on my own challenge!
Mary,
I love both of those cards! The only thing I see that is wrong with the first one is that it is not addressed to ME!! LOL! Thanks for sharing your creativity with us!
Hugs to you!
These are stunning, love the dp and brads
Thanks for showing this card idea. I’ve never seen one like this before. Love the cards, very nice color coordinations!
Very beautiful cards . Thank you.
Mary, Mary, Mary! You have OUTDONE yourself with these. These are splendid.
Both cards are beautiful Mary!
