Cheep Talk

When designing your own stamping space, inject your own personality among all the practical ideas (and you thought giant polka dots were enough for me)?  I have lots of cubbies that will be filled with tool storage, ribbon holders, accessory organizers–the essentials for the Stampin' Pretty Stamping Zone.  However, I still wanted a few special (and inexpensive) things to make it mine.

I'm a big bird lover (always a bird book ready at our back window for quick identification).  This simple ceramic bird was marked down to $4.98 at Pier 1 (from $20).  It slips into my storage landscape without chirping for too much attention.

I tucked in this pretty glass bird figurine (also Pier 1) next to an accent light I purchased at Target years ago.  The glass bird looks lovely in the reflection from the light.  The light warms up the overall of my open storage space.

Does everything need to be modern?  If you love modern, toss in a touch of traditional–and vice versa.  I loved the colors and pattern of this grouping of traditional vases (Pier 1–I tend to shop in one place when I don't order on-line) and thought they added a sophisticated touch.

Last but not least, I stopped at Staples to grab a postal scale (enough trips to the post office finally convinced me).  I glanced at the clearance bin and found all kinds of funky things for $.50.  My favorite? These lady bug push pins ($.50 for a pack of 30) are now proudly flashing their spots on my tackboard.

  10. Colleen Kramer

So Fun! I share my space with the bsmt toy/game room. Even though I have an “invisible” dividing line, my space will sometimes be decorated with eclectic Barbies, vintage disney play dishes, and traditional Thomas the Train pieces (LOL!)
No complaining here…I’ll miss the days when I don’t find a hotwheels car or a beanie kitty in the most unexpected places!

Mary – you are too funny! I can’t wait to see the totality of the stamping space. Now, I started with angels tucked into the areas of my stamping space but, as I made more purchases, the angels had to move to my bedroom because every inch in my stamping room is taken up with stamping stuff. LOL Now, if I buy anything else I honestly don’t know where to put it. Hubby suggested hanging boxes from the ceiling – it’s the only space left!

  12. You are so talented. I am so glad that you are sharing your stampin’ space as well as your cards. Gives me lots of ideas for using in my small area.

  13. super cute birdies! you are so fun to “watch”. thanks for sharing friend!

  14. I just love your style! You just seem to have it all together! I envy people who can see something and make it happen work so effortlessly! Love reading your blog, too!

  15. Super cute!! Love the birds and Pier One is one of my favorite stores for finding great stuff too. I haven’t been there in a while so I should give it a look again.

Looks like your room is coming together nicely – love the little touches you’ve added.

  16. Those ladybugs are adorable – I will be making a stop at Staples just to see if I can find them. Your space looks absolutely divine – what an oasis!!!!

  17. I just love the variety of pieces you have in your stamp space. It gives it a great personality to go with all your cards. The lady bugs add a bit of luck as well. 🙂 Can’t wait to see more!
