Groovy Guava will be the retiring Stampin' Up! In Color I will miss most (although Purely Pomegranate is a close second). I indulged in this week's Splitcoast Sketch and Color Challenges (Whisper White, Sahara Sand and Groovy Guava) to get a few more groove-a-licious doses in before the big retirement date of Aug. 10. TIP: Want some inspiration? Daily Splitcoast challenges are listed on my right side bar for your convenience. Be sure to check the status of
I inked up "enjoy" from Enjoy Every Moment with my marker and stamped it on Whisper White. TIP: A few warms "huffs" help to keep the ink moist before stamping. The image takes shape and is embossed using my new Nestabilities Long Rectangles and a Cuttlebug. Cool. The "o" in "enjoy" is a flower from the same set (stamped in Groovy Guava), emancipated with a 3/4" Circle Punch and layered on Sahara Sand (Nestabilities Circles).
The flower gets some lift with Stampin' Dimensionals and stick on pearls for the center and the dot on the "j." I inked "the little things" with my Sahara Sand Marker (double hero bonus points), stamped it on Sahara Sand and popped it out with a key Tag Punch (layered under neath).
I made strips of Groovy Guava Designer Series Polka Dot paper and layered them on Whisper White. I matted my trio on a background of Sahara Sand and Whisper White card stock.
The final touches were adding some Groovy Guava Double Stitched Ribbon (yes, the Stay Put Bow method) and snipping the ends for a little pizzazz (as I often admire on my friend Silke's fanciful creations). The bottom left corner gets a snippet of attention using my Crop-a-Dile and Sahara Sand Eyelets. TIP: I prefer to add eyelets (and brads) just short of the final card base so that they go through the Groovy Guava stripe paper but don't poke through the inside of the card. Groovy Guava (5.5 x 4.25) card base.

Mary, I didn’t have a chance to comment on your 7/29 post, but your work ethic has always shined in all your posts. I was very surprised that your blog is less than a year old but not surprised at the 100k visits. Your work is so very, very good. And the best part is that it is refreshingly original. I personally do not like the Groovy Guava, yet your card is so lovely that I think…hmmm, maybe I need to reconsider. And while I may not at this time, the point is that your creativity surpasses the medium. I love your work and your blog. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!! for all the lovely creativity that you share!
Love the “clean” feel this card has…. LOVELY.
I love this card Mary. You used some of my favorite colors.

That card is why we call you Stampin Pretty.
I love it and I learned something else, I didn’t know they made a Sahara Sand Marker. I learn something new everyday from you. Thank you, I have 4 packages I hoarded of Groovy Guava I need to make some of that card.
This is so pretty. I love all the special touches.
Oooo. Aaaah. Breathtaking. Magnificent. Well-proportioned. There aren’t enough adjectives to describe my emotions as I soak myself into this card. It sure is beautiful.
Those colors are great together. I love your layout and the little pearls on it. Very soft and pretty!
Another beautiful card, Mary. And when I realized I hadn’t ordered a pack of the guava on my “final” order before it’s done, I rushed to email my demo to see if it’s too late. LOL! I blame you for making another beautiful guava creation. I made a card with this color combo for the Simply Stamped challenge and must say that I love the colors together. One question for you – do you use your nestabilities after stamping or do you stamp onto the cut/embossed paper? I’m waiting for my first two Nesties orders and figured I should probably get “in the know” before I start cutting. Thanks! Have a great weekend!
Another WOW! Your creations are just so awesome. Great job and I do love the Groovy Guava. I hope the new In Colors are as great as these last ones. I am more of a softer color person (most of the time) and I think the new colors are more bright in nature where as these were more muted/soft tones. I am sure after seeing all the great creations from you I will love the new ones just as much! TFS
I just love your blog. It is so usable for us Stampin Up folks and I receive so much inspiration from you and your card creations.
Thanks a bunch,
barb hendrickson

This card is gorgeous Mary! I love groovy guava too, and I really love it with sahara sand…yummy! I adore how you’ve used the pearl to dot the *j* and the middle of the *o*…too cute!
