THANK YOU to my friend, Ellen Smallwood, for creating and sending me this adorable Valentine's Day card using snazzy new products from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog. Highlights include the Fashionable Hearts Embosslits Die (125596), You're My Type rubber stamp set (W125564, C125650) and Take It to Heart rubber stamp set (W125520, C125522) tucked inside.
Ellen heat embossed the black typewriter leaving a shine reminiscent of a lacquered finish. Tr?s cool!
ELLEN'S TIPS FOR AN EVEN GLOSSIER FINISH: I used a really"juicy"" just reinked black pigment pad and clear embossing powder. Did you know that after embossing you can reheat the image and quickly dip in powder and heat again? I didn't do that on the typewriter card.

Dear Ellen and Mary thanks for an adorable card. I love the hearts and the stamp. I guess i have to spend a lot more money . I am so thrilled with all of your ideas. Thanks for sending it our way.
Love Ellen’s card! The hearts “flying” out of the typewriter are so adorable! This has to bemy favorite stamp set in the new mini 🙂 Great job, Ellen!
Mary- This is just too cute! Love those new embosslits hearts and they go great with this set:) Thanks for sharing!
I love this particular stamp A LOT! I always had my eye on this other typewriter stamp by Hero Arts. I’m so glad I never got around to buying it! Needless to say as soon as I saw this one in the OCM, I said, “SOLD!” 🙂 I love this card so yet another great idea coming from Mary’s part of the world and her friends! TFS!
BTW it seems that most people seem to press the stamp way too hard in the ink and they end up with smudges where the paper is to remain blank. I just had a thought and haven’t tried it as of yet but I think I’ll try putting a small bit of paper cut to fit with removable adhesive in that area then ink it up. Also it seems you get better coverage with StazOn Jet Black Ink. Even with showing my ladies last night how to avoid this problem, most still ended up with smudges in the type area of the stamp. Well I’m off to see this this idea will work which I’m sure it will. I hope! 🙂
Another reason for me to buy this typewriter stamp set. What an adorable card. Love it!
Loved the typewriter card. This card would be a great one to send to my grandson. I never know what to send to the grandsons. I think is would be GREAT!!!!
If you are in Texas, hope you bring back lots of new ideas for us bloggers!!!
Love the typewriter card. Is the typewriter stamped directly on the paper or is it cut out and glued on?
WOW, what an AWESOME card! I look forward to your blog posts like my morning coffee (in fact, I enjoy them TOGETHER!) I hope you enjoyed San Antonio, it’s one of my favorite places to visit.
