Welcome to Monday and my weekly Mojo Monday design. This week's sketch longs for pretty paper and simple elements. I used the Serene Snowflakes stamp set, another sneak peek from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog (available Sept. 1). Click here for all my Holiday Mini sneak peek samples.
STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:
- Stampin' Up! Craft and Rubber Scissors (103179) easily lop off the "legs" of brads that stick out past your elements. They came in handy for both the Circle Rhinestone Brads I used.
- For an extra 3-D punch, I stamped the main snowflake twice. I snipped out and layered the second and adhered over the first. Very chic!
- Textured card stock for the lower portion (Very Vanilla) and "flag" (Taken with Teal) adds a richness to this project.
- Click here for my favorite tips on using the Circle Scissor Plus.
At the request of my Stampin' Pretty readers, I shot instructional photos for adding designer paper to the outside of envelope flaps. It's a beautiful touch and quicker (at least for me) than lining the interior.

I prefer Stampin' Up!'s Craft and Paper Scissors (108360) for trimming Designer Series Paper. They cut like "buttah."

Apply a strong adhesive to the exterior envelope flap on all sides. Line up designer paper to cover the flap and adhere. The designer paper should go snug against the envelope crease.

Flip the envelope over and carefully cut away the excess designer paper.

Now you have a pretty, coordinated envelope for your card!

What a gorgeous card!! Just perfect! I hope we get this snowflakes set in Australia.
Beautiful card again. I love the colors and I love the flap.
I love this DSP! Once again, it’s your trademark clean and classy card!
So pretty Mary, love the pop’d snowflake and the tutorial. Great idea, I’m gonna have to try one. *smile*
Mary – gorgeous, as usual! I love the idea of adding the DSP on the outside. Definitely a lot easier than adding it on the inside. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks for leaving a comment on our blog – I had a lot of fun working with your great Mojo sketch on Sunday!
This card is beautiful, and I’m wondering why I never thought to cover the flap on an envie, but you’ve made it SO simple! (slapping forehead) Thanks for sharing your expertise – this card/envie combo is gorgeous! I love the colors!!
Hi Mary! Love, Love, Love your work! I have a question regarding the cardstock going across the middle section of the card. How do you cut the blue piece of cardstock to have a V look (or < look)? When working with ribbon I usually fold in 1/2 and cut to get this look, but I'm puzzled with cardstock. I've tried but I don't end up with even sides. I appreciate your input as to how you do this. Thanks!Hi Amelia: Thank you for your question. Creating the "flag" takes a little practice and a little luck at hitting the center and getting the angle right. I use my Paper Snips and cut in and toward a center point. I then do my best to line up the same angle on the opposite side (again cutting in and toward the center). Where the two meet should be in the center (or close is fine). The triangle the cuts make is removed and this is the look. Good luck.Hugs, Mary
WOW Mary
