Virtual Chicken Soup

Stampin up bright delights 2

I'm convinced stamping has medicinal powers.  I finished the above card (after 2 days in bed, sandwiched between my pug and cat) and am feeling significantly better.  Additionally, hot tea and the wonderful comments from my blog friends proved to be  "virtual chicken soup," a term used by Laura Pertot, in her well-wishing sentiment.  Thank you to all of you for your kindness and patience.

Today's card is destined for my brother-in-law after he has knee surgery next week. I needed to keep it masculine but used Summer Sun accents to keep it cheerful.  Stampin up bright delights
I love these Summer Sun Corduroy buttons, which I previously deemed the "it" embellishment of the new catalog.  They also come in Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Kraft, Pacific Point, and Pumpkin.  Yeah, baby.  I want them all.  TIP:  I tied a sliver of Chocolate Chip card stock in a knot for a color coordinated polish for the buttons.

The sentiment is from Sweet Little Sentiments, a versatile Hostess Level 1 set.  TIP:  Did you know you that if you place your order on-line for Stampin' Up! products totaling $150, you get:

  • Free Hostess Level 1 set (like the set below or choose from five other options)
  • $15 in free merchandise
  • Three free Sale-A-Bration gifts (one for every $50)
  • Free Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog (value $9.95)

For maximum benefits, stock up or team-up with a friend when you SC218Today's layout is attributed to this week's Splitcoast Sketch Challenge
SC218.  I simply turned it 90 degrees.  Textured Summer Sun and Very
Vanilla card stock dress up the 4.25 x 5.5 card base in Kiwi Kiss.

It's a great time to save and indulge in the art of stamping!  BrownSignature

  1. I love this card and love your blog! I am an SU demo as well and you inspired me to create my own blog. It has only been up since January but I love it! Thanks for all you do and I am glad you are on the mend. I will continue to check in daily to see what other wonderful projects you create.

  2. Hi Mary,

  3. Oh my goodness! I am making a birthday card for my SU demonstrator as she is celebrating her birthday Saturday (a surprise at Hostess Club BY HER HUSBAND). Nice husband. I digress . . . This is the card. I’m going to use suede paper and pretty frilly girly things. So glad you are feeling better and welcome back to the real world of stamping.

  4. She’s back, and just as creative as ever. Perfect card for a male. I’m going to put that on my list of things to do. Glad you’re feeling somewhat better.

  8. Great card! The color combo is so nice–a male version of Spring colors! (Love those summer sun corduroy buttons!)

  9. I love this card, Mary! In addition to the stamping and the hot tea, I’m sure the companionship of your pug and your cat contributed to your fast recovery! Pets are so sweet, especially when you aren’t feeling well! So glad to know you are feeling much better!

  10. This is beautiful! I love everything created with the Good Morning Sunshine paper, glad I ordered it! Good to see your mojo is back after getting sick! TFS!

  11. No wonder I didn’t see a posting earlier yesterday when I checked. Glad to hear you are feeling better. LOVE this masculine card but would also be suitable for anyone. Take care of yourself!
