The Manhattan Flower Has Arrived!

Stampin up manhattan flower

The spanking new, tr?s cool Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die (114517) is now available.  My demo order arrived last night along with this die and lots of goodies from the Occasions Mini.  I have so much to share (new stamps, rub-ons, designer paper) in the upcoming days!!!  TIP:  The Manhattan "die" does not cut but creates rich texture similar to a Cuttlebug embossing folder and coordinates beautifully with Stampin' Up!'s Manhattan Collection of stamps, Designer Paper and more.

TIP:  Take the beautiful results up a notch by embossing on Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series Paper and lightly rubbing the textured area with a sanding block.  Unlike Stampin' Up!'s card stock (which is dyed all the way through), the sanded Designer Paper evolves into an interesting distressed finish.  Basic Gray Designer Paper from the Hostess Level 1 Patterns Pack is shown here.

A pretty strip of Baja Breeze satin ribbon (Stampin' Up! Ribbon Originals) pumps up the blue and three Robin's Nest Dew Drops (Cowboy, www.ucutathome.com) define the bottom corner.  I layered the embossed layer on Baja Breeze and a 4.25 x 5.5 Whisper White card base.

Stampin up only ovals
The sentiment reveals a peek at two new items from the Occasions Mini Catalog, available for customer order on April 1.  The stamp set, called Oval All, offers four lovely sentiments that coordinate with Stampin' Up!'s Oval Punches.  I stamped "fabulous friend" in Basic Gray ink on Baja Breeze and Whisper White card stock.  I snipped out and layered the Baja flower.  Better yet, add to your wish list the new Scallop Oval Punch used to produce the pretty bottom layer in Baja Breeze.

Question…can this be used in a Cuttlebug? If so, do you know the “sandwich”? Thanks!

  5. Another lovely card! This die is at the top of my wish list, although I am also waiting for April to place an order. Gorgeous as always!

  8. I’m so glad Stampin Up has come up with stamps that fit exactly into the ovals. Your card is beautiful and since the print is soooo small in the description, I wasn’t even aware that Basic Gray was even in there. I can’t wait to see it, Mr. Brown is coming today. That card is so elegant.

  9. This card is fabulous. Can’t wait to get the Manhattan embossing plate. I love your blog because you use SU products and explain everything so well. You are so talented.

  10. Absolutely beautiful Mary! I am holding off until next quarter to place my mini order so I will just have to drool over your fun toys.

  11. A Grand Slam! The color combo is fabulous, love the embossing, the new oval set could just be my next must have! Bravo!

  12. OMG, I am speechless. Seriously at leadership I fell hard in love with this set and have awaited the arrival of the texture impressions die(wow what a mouth full) It is beautiful. You did an awesome job! Thank you so much for sharing. I have recently became a subscriber to your blog and I have to admit every morning I am so excited when I see you in my inbox. My blog is www.whitney69.blogspot.com. I always like too see the people’s blog that sign up for my blog. So in case you do theres my blog. Our taste are very similar I love when I find that!!

  13. I got my Manhattan die yesterday, and the first thing I did was take Sweet Slumber paper and Parisian Breeze paper, emboss them with the die, then sand off the tops! It is fabulous! I do it with my Embosslit flowers too.

  14. *gasp* Oh my gosh, your minicatalogue stuff has already arrived?! You lucky girl… I stayed up until 3 a.m. EST to pre-order righr away and my stuff shipped yesterday! I’ll be lucky if I get it before the weekend of the 14th… That’s okay, my catalogue stuff still needs some lovin’! I really, really like the card you shared here – so elegant!! The Manhattan embossing template is probably my fave new product in all of the new catalogue. I have no doubt it will sell like hot cakes. Pretty jazzed we have a scallop oval punch now, too!

So, how did you do with the mini? I was WAY more reasonable with this preorder than with my new catalogue list. I think my fave new set is the Oldies one – it’s in French! I have been wanting a funny, punny French set for a long while. And I’ve got all kind of ideas for funny quips of my own to pair with it…

    Looking forward to seeing more!
    Cindy 🙂

  15. I love the color combo, Mary.

And that ribbon is so pretty, thanks for talking me into it. 🙂
