Sweet Candles Birthday Card Idea

Stampin Up Window Box Birthday Card - Mary Fish stampinup

Today’s clean and simple birthday card idea features the Window Box Thinlits Dies (Occasions Catalog).  Along with making fabulous 3D boxes, this set of thinlits has great accessory dies that can be used in many ways.

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • The trios of candles were cut using the candle die from Window Box Thinlits Dies.  The Big Shot Precision Base Plate helps cut this intricate design effortlessly.
  • Behind the scenes!  A striped pattern from the Designer Series Paper Stacks peeks through the negative space of the candles.  I used Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack and Emerald Envy from the 2016-2018 Designer Series Paper Stack.  A strip of  Crushed Curry is layered behind for the flame.

  • Lovin’ these fonts!  The sentiment is from Cool Treats photopolymer stamp set and is stamped in Emerald Envy.

  • The inside sentiment comes from Balloon Adventures photopolymer stamp set.
  • A pattern from Party Animal Designer Series Paper on the inside coordinates with the card front.

    Tfs
    Hugs Frenchie,

  2. Those candles are aDORable! You’ve given them a real texturized element. I also admire how much attention you put on the inside of the card–it’s like getting two cards! What joy it must bring! btw–may I take a moment of your time? My sister works in hospice care and they try to collect birthday cards for their centenarians. There is a little old lady turning 104 but they only have about 50 cards so far. Got one laying around you could send? If so, (no pressure) could you send it to Miss Irene, c/o Beacon Hospice, attn. Karen Powell, 13 Branch St, Suite 100, Methuen, MA 01844. Thanks–whatever the case!

  3. What a FANTASTIC way to use this die-set. LOVE how all 15 candles are lined up in a row. GREAT CARD MY FRIEND!

  4. Wow, Mary, I didn’t realize there were candles in this Thinlits set. Cool card! I especially like the striped DSP patterns behind the candles and then carrying the candle theme inside with the Party animal DSP. Great way to showcase several products from the Occasions catalog. Thanks for sharing your creativity!
