My favorite way to create texture on cards is by using one of SU’s 3D Embossing Folders and either put ink on the folder before I emboss the Card Stock or by embossing texture onto Card Stock and using a piece of sponge or the finger daubers with a small amount of ink on it and swirling the ink onto the texture on the Card Stock.

  84. My favorite way to add texture to a card is dry embossing. We have so many wonderful embossing folders that can add so much to the appearance of my cards. I especially love the Subtle EF because it often adds just the right amount of texture without distracting from the rest of the design.

  85. I love embossing folders but I also use a lot of Stampin dimensionals, which I think give a card a lot of texture!!!

  86. I take a small piece of wax paper crumple it then dab it on the color I’m using .I off stamp it then dab the card stock I’m using It gives me a slight back ground.

This is a set I am looking forward to having in my collection, and even better If I win it! I purchase vent covers and cut them to fit my die sets. They are lighter and work well.   155. The Stampin Up embossing folders just on their own make beautiful cards. I often make sets of different color card stock for family and friends as gifts. They love them!

  156. At times I use gesso or embossing paste over stencils for light to medium texture. Or emboss water color paper to add as layer on card front.

  157. I often start with an embossed card and then add .stamped cut dies with dimensionals. I sometimes also spritz the card with another color and/or bling. This card can be bright and bold or pale and soft.

Depending on the effect or statement I’m creating, favorite technique I tend to use are different types of dies on the front of the card along with layers of different card stock. If the front of the card needs a little help, I will add some bling! Sometimes, I heat emboss a sentiment on the inside of the card or leave blank for a personal note.

  169. I love all the choices we have with SU! products. The two I probably use the most are stamping and dry embossing. Die cuts certainly come in 3rd.

  170. A lot depends on the stamp set. Dry embossing is a technique I love. One embossing folder can be subtle to put the focus on the stamp set.
    Another can have more texture and accent the card front without designer paper. I love to try new techniques and this set really inspires me to try something different.

  172. I like dry embossing best. There are soooo many beautiful embossing folders available. You can almost always find one that fits your card’s theme. There is way of also adding color to your embossed image at the SAME time that you do the embossing.

  196. I really enjoy sponging backgrounds, whether its just a subtle swoosh of color or a full scene. I like to make background scenes with sky, clouds, sunny horizon and grass or an ocean background with a sunset. I think I love making full sun/sky/grass backgrounds the most. It amazes me how sponging ink can bring a blank white piece of paper to life! Sometimes you don’t even need a stamped image because they turn out so pretty by themselves.
    I also like to sponge the edges of my die cuts or other layered pieces to give them extra dimension.

I am not sure what it is call but you take a piece of cardstock ie: 2 by 4 and bend it a little and take your bone folder and curl it a little on both sides and then separate the cardstock by holding it my the ends and pulling apart until you get 2 pieces of ruffed up card stock and then I use one of them on a card. just as a ascent piece on the card.

  210. I like layering several techniques. Like pad to paper, die cut image, layer to pad to paper, then stamp a saying and layer to all and of course add some bling ( I’m a horse show person and it’s a lot of bling)

    • My most used technique for adding texture is dry embossing but I also like to use heat embossing.

  211. When using word or letter dies on the front of a card, I like to glue and stack two or three of the cuts before placing on card.

    I love to incorporate oodles of texture to my projects! I do this by adding things like buttons, ribbons, trims, and paper flowers but also embossing folders and stencils. even just distressing the edges of cardstock, which I do on every project!, adds a bit of texture and interest.
