  5. Hot chocolate with miniature marshmallows.
    A must have during this season. It conjures up long ago memories of snowy days, wet mittens and freezing feet. Coming in to warm up and then out again to start the process all over again. Ending with a warm flannel nightgown sitting in the rocking chair in front of the fireplace with the Sears Christmas wish catalog.

  9. My favorite winter is a spicy hot tea that is made with Tang orange drink mix. I enjoy the blend of cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg together with the citrus flavored tea. It’s so easy to mix up and so delicious. This drink definitely warms the body and the heart.

I fill my literal cup of Christmas with my own hot peppermint mocha concoction–a spoonful of instant coffee, a scoop of homemade hot chocolate mix, a splash of cream, a peppermint candy, and stir with hot water for yummy deliciousness! The Cup of Christmas bundle is a perfect reflection of the comforting warmth of a hot cuppa!

  38. Having lived a few years in Scotland and England with my husbands job , i learned to drink hot tea. It’s their answer to making things better “come on over for a spot of tea or a cuppa” . Now only but British tea bags tp keep me warm in the upper Midwest .

  39. This year I bought an adorable mug from a little shop in my beloved hometown that says “Sweater Weather” on it, and ANYTHING tastes better in that mug! I especially love my comforting cup of steaming hot coffee first thing in the morning, but then in the evening, sometimes I pull it back out of the cupboard to make a cup of hot chocolate…with plenty of “squirty” whipped cream on top!

  63. My local purveyor of balsamic vinegars has an aged Cinnamon Pear one that they had a recipe for and I gave it a try. It’s a small amount of the vinegar warmed up with apple cider. So delicious in the fall!

  286. I make non-alcoholic wassail during the holidaze. The smell of apple cider and fruit juices warming, with clove-spiked oranges floating on top, is a sure sign Christmas is coming to our house. The fragrance fills the house with layers of cinnamon and spice. The recipe is so old that we have enjoyed this festive treat for decades and the aroma is a wonder-filled reminder of Christmases past.

Fill the cup to the brim add a few marshmallows, and sip it while sitting by the fire.   349. Ah, homemade cocoa season! That’s what fills my cup during cold weather, but also the cups of my grandchildren. When we are low on the special recipe mix, we pick up more powdered milk, dry creamer, confectioners sugar and Nestle’s Quick and mix up some more, creating a dust cloud that settles a tasty powder on every nearby surface. For extra richness, we add half-and-half to our hot cocoa and top with marshmallows, stirred in with a peppermint cane. Joy in a cup shared with ones we love. 🙂
