STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:
- Thick is slick! I used Stampin’ Up! Thick Whisper White Card Stock for the the card base (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) as well as the additional layers. The die cuts have more dimension this way, especially important when doing white on white.
- I used the Stampin’ Up! Layering Squares Framelits Dies to create the frame and border. Watch the video above for tips on how to do this!
- Paper Snips are perfect for the “surgery” needed to end up with just the house and tree cropped with the Hometown Greetings Edglits Dies.
- Much easier! Have the Big Shot Die Brush handy to run along the perforations of the die (after cutting) to remove the loose pieces as well as ease out the die cut.
- Save 10%! Purchase the Hearts Come Home Stamp set and coordinating Hometown Greetings Edgelits Dies as a bundle and save 10%. Watch this Stampin’ Up! video demonstration for more tips and ideas on using this bundle.
- Ravishing in Real Red! The heart (Brights Enamel Shapes) and ribbon (Real Red 1/8″ Solid Ribbon) are all the “pop” a clean card like this needs.

Thank you so much for discovering this card and leaving me a sweet comment, Anne!
Hi Mary,
Although I live in Australia where there is no snow at Christmas, I love this card you have demonstrated. It is simple but stylish and stunning.
Thank you for sharing the technique.
I love this card! 2of our children live out of state and will not make it home for Christmas. Using HOME in a figuratively way, I know they will wish they were home as will we. Beautiful set, beautiful card. Gonna make a few of these today. Thanks so much!
I’m thrilled you can find a way to share “home” creatively!
Thanks so much, Ruth. I used my snips to remove the buildings on either side. I touch on this briefly in the video: https://youtu.be/HWooAlqZD-o
Hi Mary – I absolutely love this Christmas card. I am trying to make it for my cards this Christmas but for the life of me I can’t seem to figure out how you cut the house and the tree out. I bought the bundle so I have the framelits, but I just can’t seem to be able to put it together. Can you please help me with this. Thank you kindly.
Awww, love all that snow , and that heart on the tree , who needs more then that , lovely
Tfshugs frenchie ♥️
Such sweetness. I love the red heart on the tree. Thanks, Frenchie.
Snow fun! Wonderful card and the video was super! You made that black frame look so easy! I gotta try this once I get the houses and stamp set. Be still my beating heart as it comes home for the holidays!
The black frame is very easy, Chris R. Such a fun time of year for those passionate about paper crafting.
I love simple!

This card is simply GORGEOUS Mary. The Whisper White on Black is STUNNING…….and the pop of Real Red takes it up to the next level. THANKS for sharing!
Thanks, Miss Kadie, for being such a fabulous fan and friend!
I love the simplistic beauty of this card. It shows so much without going overboard!
Just a little pop of red is all that’s needed, right? Thanks, Lisa.
This card is one absolutely beautiful……it is simple and elegant. The white and black contrast is stunning. Also, the video is well done, so easy to follow. Great job,?
I’m so happy you took the time to leave a comment, Val. I treasure every one!
This card is amazing. What an incredible idea you had with dies to feature just one house. The square framelit touch……fabulous!
I appreciate that, Kimberly. I love getting more “mileage” from my dies and stamps!
Such a jump-up-and-down gorgeous card, Mary! LOVE!
I’m jumping up and down in gratitude for your comment, BK.
