This weekend I got a chance to practice and play with the Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers (available to customers Nov. 1, 2017). For today’s fall card, I used Rich Razzleberry and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends (each color has two shades) to add rich layers of color to the Crumb Cake leaves.
I’ll share an easy coloring technique for using the Stampin’ Blends with a 1 Minute to WOW! Video Tutorial tomorrow!
I love hearing from you! Please leave me your questions or comments about the project for today.
STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:
- The sentiments and images from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set are lovely and offer year round versatility. The leaves were cropped with the coordinating Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies. Save 10% when you purchase the stamp set and dies as a bundle!
- Stampin’ Blends Must-Have! Tuxedo Black Memento Ink is designed to work with the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. To keep the image crisp, give the stamped images a minute or two to dry before adding the saturated color of the markers.
- A stamp from Touches of Texture Stamp Set adds soft, distressed texture and balance.
- A 1 3/8″ x 5″ wood pattern from Stampin’ Up! Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack (6 x 6). The versatile wood patterns are part of the Buy 3 Get 1 FREE Sale on select designer series paper collection. Details and choices here.

I really like this card.
Autumn is my favorite time of year & I love the Autumn colors.
Keep creating these wonderful cards!
Very pretty Mary! Looks like I will have to add to my collection!
Great to hear. I got all the colors available (soon to customers) and have no regrets Coloring is fun for me with the markers.
Really neat!?
Thanks so much, Kimberly, for dropping me a sweet comment.
Mary,
Do you re-use your folders that the dies come in? It seems a shame to throw them out after I put the dies on the magnets.
I save them for when the dies retire and I sell. Good question, Linda B.
Oh MsMary, what a beautiful card , your working those babes good , that’s a wow video, don’t you think ? Lol, you need to show us how to play with those , ?
Way to go ♥️♥️
Hugs Frenchie
Just finished a WOW! video with tips on using the Stampin’ Blends, Frenchie. It will be shared on my blog tomorrow!
Gorgeous, Mary! These leaves are a perfect image to color with these amazing, new markers. Can’t wait to offer them to customers! I love the colors you’ve used and the sweet layout of this card.
Thanks so much, Brian King!
Are these similar to the old blender pens that were discontinued?
The Blendabilities and Stampin’ Blends are both alcohol based markers. Blendabilities were discontinued primarily due to quality issues related to packaging (often drying out). Stampin’ Up! has carefully reworked the markers and focused on significantly improved packaging to avoid them drying out. I liked our Blendabilities a lot but the Stampin’ Blends should have better longevity. There are only two shades for the Stampin’ Blends – an improvement over Blendabilities three shades, in my opinion, as well. Thanks for your question, Connie.
Beautiful card Mary. The color you achieved with the Blends is stunning.
The Stampin’ Blends really saturate with ink. The results are lovely and easy to do. Working on the video for tomorrow shortly!
What an AMAZING card you created Mary with the new Stampin’ Blends. LOVE IT!
The Stampin’ Blends are going to be a hot way to color! Thanks, Kadie!
Gorgeous card Mary. I rethought my order last night and bought the Rich Razzleberry blenders and the fig ribbon so I will be all set to CASE away once my order comes. I love so many of your cards but today I am saying this is my absolute favorite card of yours!
Thanks so much, Chris. I think you will find it easy to CASE.
Beautiful card, Mary, with your awesome coloring. Love the spatters to give texture. Have a great day!
Thank you, HJ. I usually don’t add many textured stamps. However, for this autumn style, I thought it was the perfect balance!
