This elf image from the Festive Phrases stamp set is cute as can be! Festive Phrases stamp set is on the list of my favorite things from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog. I love the possibilities of these stamps for fall and winter holidays (even “love” for Valentine’s Day, anniversaries and more)!
I love hearing from you! Please leave me your questions or comments about the project for today.

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:
- Rock those layers! Layering Squares Framelits Dies produce perfect squares in a snap. I used the Big Shot Magnetic Platform to keep the sentiment in place during it’s trip through the Big Shot.
- I cropped the Basic Black layer to 2 3/4″ square using the Stampin’ Trimmer so that it adds just a touch of crisp definition behind the sentiment layer.
- I stamped the elf image again on Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White card stock. Using Paper Snips, I snipped out the elf shoes, hat and the forelock of hair. I added a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional to the forelock to pop it up.
- The perfect spots for bling! I love the addition of Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the tops of the elf shoes and hat.
- The bold black and white check on the card and star pattern on the envelope flap are from Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper (one of my favorite things from the holiday catalog). Here’s a closer look at ALL the designer series paper in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.
- Charming Cherry Cobbler 1/4″ Double-Stitched Ribbon (dashes on one side and cross stitch on the other) adds another pop of deep red.

Love this card so much! Will be copying. Did you use the SU notecards?
Thanks, Susan. I used a standard 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card base (not note cards). Good luck!
Thank you, Pam! I adhered the designer paper to the envelope flap. I used Paper Snips to carefully cut away the excess. Here’s a video demonstration I did previously that will be helpful: https://stampinpretty.com/2016/05/wow-video-sneak-peek-affectionately.html
Hi Mary! First…I love love love this little card! Adorable! How did you do the envelope flap? Is it that old die we used to have?? I would love to case this one..but I MUST have the matching envelope too. 🙂

Hugs Frenchie ♥️
Delighted you enjoyed the card, Frenchie.
I can honestly say that absolutely no one does classic black and white with a pop of color as well as you do. It always says classic simplicity and charm. This card is a perfect example, simply stunning.
Thanks, Robbye. Your comments mean so much and brighten my day!
Fabulous card Mary! Cute yet classic. I immediately fell in love with that cute little elf image and he is even cuter on a card.
I think all four images will get a lot of “ink time,” Dana. The elf captured my heart, however.
Super-cute, Mary! I love this fun layout. <3
Thanks, BK, for stopping by and leaving me some “sugar!”
I am now regretting not purchasing this set as I am seeing so very many possibilities! I LOVE this card.
I love all four stamps . . . have used two and plan to use the others soon! Lots of longevity!
I love this color combination, too, Kimberly. Think how pretty this pattern would look on a sophisticated valentine!
Really cute card! Love the combination of black and red. The black check just makes the card pop!
Absolutely darling card……..that I can see being CASE’d and sent to my Twoie Boy. THANKS for sharing my friend.
He almost looks like your Twoie Boy, Kadie!
A+dorable! Love every element and so well put together!
Thanks, Karren. I tried many different ways to put this card together and, ultimately, removed layers to find something I liked!
Ohh!! This card can’t be any cuter!!! Love this little Elf and the way you popped up his hair, how sweet it looks.
And Mary, Cherry Cobbler is my ALL TIME FAVORITE COLOR FOR CHRISTMAS, it’s just about the most perfect shade of red, I hope they never retire it!!!
Awesome layers, fabulous card.
Thank you for sharing.
XO
Maria.
I love the way the Cherry Cobbler looks with black and white, Maria. Thanks for your sweetness!
