  • The A2 card base (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) is Smoky Slate with a Night of Navy layer on top.
  • The plaid pattern from the Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper Stack works beautifully with today’s Inspired by Color combination.

  • The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy ink on Smoky Slate card stock.
  • Best results . . . Using the Precision Base Plate along with the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine makes cutting the pine branches a snap.
  • Look at the detail of the pinecones cut in Early Espresso card stock!
  • A solid baker’s twine bow in Night of Navy “ties” it all together!

  6. Oh Mary, that’s it!!! you just sent me over the top and into getting this set IMMEDIATELY!!!!! I adore this card and all the others you’ve shown using this dies, goodness!!
Now, if this helps Judy Tuttle…..I’ve read that, if you grab a dryer sheet like Bounce or Downy or any brand you use for your dryer, and fold it in half and run your die several times on the Big Shot, the stuff in the dryer sheet will kind of give your die a waxy coat, then your card stock will loosen up a bit easier.
I’ve tried this method with the Botanical Builder die set, the one with the sprig was a bit hard to get without messing it up.
    I hope this helps 🙂
Thank you Mary for sharing your gorgeous card and thank you also for the amazing Inspired by Color boards on Pinterest, what a magnificent collection of wonderful color combinations.
    XO
    Maria.

  7. I think the colors are sophisticated. I had trouble getting some of my more intricate dies to come out. Did precision plate, wax paper, shims, bristle die brush. You name it, I tried it. I did find that putting the sandwich through 3 times greatly improved my chances. You may want to try that on the more intricate dies. (Easier on my electric Big Shot).

  8. One more suggestion . . . do you have the bristle die brush, Judy? It really helps to dislodge the detailed dies. I know . . . one more thing, right? Wax paper should work well . . . you may want to try it a few more times just to get the die “waxy” (and slippery). Thanks for your sweet comments!

  9. Mary, I love, love , love this card and the pretty pines set. However, I am having a terrible time getting the pine boughs out of the die even with the precision plate. I have even tried using wax paper and paper bags as a shim between the die and paper. Any thoughts? I want to use this set more often but I struggle with the boughs tearing on me when I try to get them out of the die. Oh, Also I use the brush as well. Could mine be defective?
