The Floral Affection Embossing Folder is the perfect centerpiece to share your condolences. This card was created by my Stampin’ Pretty Design Group.

I love hearing from you!  Please leave me your questions or comments about the project for today.

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • The combination of Whisper White and Soft Sky make for a soft and soothing backdrop to the embossed layer.
  • The Floral Affection Embossing Folder meaures 4 1/2″ x 2 7/8″.  For perfectly centered embossing, cut a piece of Whisper White to 2 7/8″ x 3 7/8″.

  • For a bit more detail, use the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to create a subtle frame.
  • It’s the little things!  A few tiny Pearl Basic Jewels enhance the embossing.
  • The sentiments in the Flourishing Phrases stamp are such a beautiful font.  The sentiment for my sympathy card is stamped in Pool Party ink.

  1. love this card!!! but do you have any tips for not getting cs cracks with the embossing folder? I have tried it with WW … heavy weight WW …. turned it both ways on big shot platform….used a warped plate on the top….always getting a paper crack at the top … two actually about an inch apart!

would love to not have this happen with the WW!!

    • Hi Barbara: I use designated cutting pads for embossing (even label them) so that they are straight (more so than those I have cut with). Here are suggestions from Stampin’ Up!

Have her try misting the cardstock lightly with water and using straight cutting pads. If that doesn’t work she could also try adding a piece of plain typing paper to the sandwich. She would just want to cover the closed embossing folder with the typing paper before she puts the straight cutting pad on top of it.

  2. I love the simplicity and peacefulness of this card. How big is the card? I’ve made a test card and seems too big

  7. Beautiful! For sure another “Mary Fish” that I will add to my “will do” stash. Would not have thought of the sky blue and pool party combo. The perfect simple, but beautiful card to have on hand.
THANK YOU again for your talents. Off to see what I “need” to order.

  8. Sympathy cards are the most difficult to make, you want to convey your message without any unnecessary fuss.
This card is one of the best examples of that, as CAS as can be, the sentiment looks perfect surrounded by this lovely embossing.
    Thank you for sharing.
    Off to pinning!!

  9. This is a wonderful simple card which will be very useful when more “fussy” cards would be inappropriate
