Meet the Stampin’ Up! 2016-2017 In Colors

Stampin Up In Colors

The stamping world is buzzing about the beautiful, new Stampin’ Up! 2016-2018 In Colors.  Even the names are trendy and fun:  Dapper Denim, Flirty Flamingo, Emerald Envy, Peekaboo Peach, Sweet Sugarplum.  These colors will be available in coordinating card stock, ink, markers, designer series paper, ruched ribbon (see yesterday’s sneak peek post) and more starting June 1, when the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog Begins.  See more product sneak peeks in my video reveal!

I compared each of the new 2016-2018 In Colors to the existing Stampin’ Up! colors so you can see where they fit into the line up.  These are not necessarily suggested color combinations but I definitely see possibilities for a few ombre looks!

Stampin Up Dapper Denim Color Comparison

Dapper Denim may be my favorite.  It’s a rich, deep blue with a hint of green and reminds me of retired Stampin’ Up! color Not Quite Navy.

Stampin Up Flirty Flamingo Color Comparison

Flirty Flamingo is a warm, clear pink.  I think it will be stunning with the copper accessories coming in the new catalog.

Stampin Up Emerald Envy Color Comparison

Emerald Envy is a crisp, kelly green.  It has a blue base that sets it apart from many of the Stampin’ Up! greens.

Stampin Up Peekaboo Peach Color Comparison

Peekaboo Peach fills a gap in the Stampin’ Up! colors for a soft, pastel orange.  It will “rock out” the copper accessories, too!

Stampin Up Sweet Sugarplum Comparison

Sweet Sugarplum is a lovely orchid and a hot, hot color trend in fashion and home decor.  Kiss, kiss!

I hope you found this introduction and comparison to the 2016-2018 In Colors helpful.  Do you have a favorite new In Color?  Please share with a comment HERE

  2. Hi Mary, I love it when you do this color comparison for us. Crazy me, but I was assuming when I saw the sneak peak of the cover of the new catalog, that the 5 colors on the bottom (2 oranges, 2 greens, and a blue…) were going to be the new in colors. But apparently NOT! Do you know what those 5 colors are (the ones pictured on the catalog cover)?
    Thanks!

  3. Thanks Mary for contrasting the new colors with some of the older ones. Great for choosing color schemes for cards. I love all the new colors. Really hard to choose just one but I am partial to blues so my choice is Dapper Denim. Can’t wait to get my hands on the new catalog.

  4. Mary, thank you for this comparison, the new colors are really looking good!, I’m hoping the Flamingo will be a good pink to use and not too bold and bright.

  5. Mary, my favorite colors from the above would be the greens. In a lot of things I do in life, green is a choice I make for coloring. Thank you for this demo.

  6. Favorite – Dapper Denim, without a doubt. Then Emerald Envy (love blues and greens!) I think I will enjoy using all the colors in this year’s collection (but..for me…Sweet Sugarplum will be most challenging.)
Looking forward to ordering and seeing them in person.

    • Hi Colleen . . . Flirty Flamingo could easily be contrasted with the pinks. However, I opted to roll with it’s warmer range (it has a lot of coral). You could certainly compare Flirty Flamingo to Blushing Bride (on the light end) and Melon Mambo on the deeper end. YES, I’ll update the color charts. I use them all the time, too.

  11. Just curious…you put Flirty Flamingo in with the oranges/corals, but it looks pink. How does it play with the other pinks, rather than the corals?

  15. WOW!! the first picture with the pile of new colors card stock doesn’t give you an idea of the difference in this new shades with the old ones but, your beautiful little heart sample cards totally does!!
My favorite shade, just by looking at this samples is SWEET SUGARPLUM, perhaps because I’m very partial to shades in the purple/lavender/pink families.
Thank you Mary for this sneak peek at this pretty new colors.
