Watercolor Words Masculine Birthday Card

Stampin Up Masculine Birthday Card Watercolor Words by Mary Fish Pinterest

Yesterday, I flipped to my November birthday calendar and realized I needed a masculine birthday card for my brother-in-law on November 1.    Panic!

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

Stampin Up Go Wild Stack Designer Series Paper

  • I inked up a bold “happy birthday” sentiment from Watercolor Words stamp set and was almost done!

  • A black button dressed up with black and white baker’s twine is the perfect touch.  Glue Dots keep it securely in place.

  • Watercolor Words stamp set offers an uber cool font and variety of sentiments.

  • If there’s one set of dies I use more than any other, it’s the Stampin’ Up! Envelope Liners Framelits Dies.  A handsome lined envelope completes the look!

  2. Love your card ! I am looking for a larger Happy B day stamp. Could you tell me the size of the one you used? Is your finished card a 5 by 7 ?
    Thanks,
    MS

    • Hi m.s. I’m happy to help. The sentiment size is approx. 3 1/8″ wide x 1 3/4″. My card measures 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. That’s the size I typically use (standard A2) if I don’t mention otherwise. M

  4. I LOVE this masculine card! I love how you used Tip Top Taupe CS as the base of your card to coordinate with the DSP envelope liner! Awesome!! You always do such a fabulous job! BTW, I agree with Maria. The sentiment font really goes great with this particular DSP pattern!

  5. Oh yeah!!! this is another gorgeously fabulous masculine card, the DSP really frames this beautiful sentiment perfectly.
I always struggle with embellishing this types of cards but your black button with the black and white Baker’s Twine, totally finishes this card.
On it goes to my Masculine cards folder.
    Thank you for sharing, Mary.

    • You are spot on, Maria! The Go Wild DSP is perfect with the Watercolor Words. There’s a broad stripe that I almost used that would be superb with the stamp set . . . same kind of “painterly” feel.

  6. Love this! Also…I love the way you have the DSP in a better view. I think Stampin’Up! should have this view by ALL their DSP in the store. People can get a better view of what the paper looks like. I know this view helped me to better see the printed pages…very instrumental in buying ALL my DSP!!!

  8. I hadn’t used it in awhile, too, HJ. As a reminder, this designer paper is adorable for feminine cards, too. You can even mix the animal prints with pink for a baby card!
