Finally a Video! My Stampin’ Studio Tour

my stampin studio craft space organizationSurprise–I’m finally releasing the full video tour of My Stampin’ Studio which I have been promising for almost a year.  Making the video was a joint effort with Brett & Mary Haugen at Stamp-n-Storage and I’m so grateful for their help.  The final cut is far more professional than anything I could do on my own!  Thank you for your patience!

In this video (click image above to play video), I’ll share my design process, organization as well as craft storage ideas.  Many of these ideas will work within all budgets (my “original” stamping space was a closet).  Keep an open and creative mind and adapt to your own space!

Learn more about the craft organization products I used from Stamp-n-Storage here.  I receive a small affiliate fee if you use it to shop but assure you I love and use these quality products!

My craft space is always evolving and I made a few changes since we shot this video late last December.  I now have a floor rug which keeps down the echo of my tall ceilings and stone floors and warms up the space.  I purchased Martha Stewart collapsible fabric bins to fill my two upper cabinets (so many yummy colors to choose from).  I use them to keep my retiring Stampin’ Up! product and new/unused product (extras for blog candy and prizes) better organized.

  1. Mary, your studio is an absolute dream! I’m curious about your design process – did you use a kitchen designer, a closet organizing company, or interior designer? I am getting ready to turn an extra bedroom into my very own crafting sanctuary and not sure what service would be best. Thank you for the video tour, so helpful and enlightening!

  2. Mary, your home and stamping studio are stunning and inspirational. My husband and I are preparing for a big move and I dream of having a creative space such as yours with Stamp-n-Storage products in our new home. Can you tell me about your chairs? Thank you, Mary.

    • Hi Patsy: Thank you for your comments. Good luck with your move. My chair at the desk was from Copenhagen Furniture. The bar stool (wish it had wheels by the way–but couldn’t find a decent one in ivory) is from Wayfair. M

  4. How lovely! Yours is the first blog I hit each day. I love your simple yet elegant style. I really admire that you get rid of retired product! I find it hard to part with all those beautiful DSPs and certain In Colors. Your space is inspiring!

    • Hi Jimi: As I stated in the video, I don’t work well in chaos and I find it more inspiring and fun to keep current product on hand and sell the retired. That gives me some extra money for even more goodies! Hugs, M

      • This was my exact question too! How do you pay with all those beautiful retired products? It seems like you have everything, but your studio is so beautiful and clean! Do you sell them? Thanks for all the inspiration!

        • I find “purging” once my Stampin’ Up! products retire, helps me keep my space more streamlined as well as ensures that I share only product people can still get their hands on. I sell my products once they retire to my newsletter subscribers and customers.

          • You’ve inspired me. I function SO much better in a clean space! I can part with my old favorites to make room for new. 🙂 Also, how can I subscribe to your newsletter?

  5. Hi, Mary,
Just wanted to thank you for all your wonderful tips for organization!! I do not have the luxury of a spare room, since I live in an apartment, nor do I have a budget that allows me to expand as you have, but can still implement a lot of your hints to keep things at my fingertips while working! Your studio is really amazing!! Thanks for sharing!!

  6. A fabulous space and a fabulous tour! Some great take-a-ways here!

Would you mind sharing the source of your counter stool?

  7. I can’t get my creative mojo going in chaos so I “purge” often. As a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I try to just keep my current products on hand and sell the rest to customers.

  9. Mary, I’ve been following your blog for awhile and I believe one of the first videos I watched of yours was your craft space in your previous home. It inspired me to create a space of my own. Watching your latest space come to life gave me lots of ideas and tips and helped me with my decisions regarding which stamp and storage products to purchase. I love my new organized space! Could you tell me where you found the 12×12 dividers and project folders for your designer paper? Thanks again for sharing your beautful space!

    • Thanks, Michelle. I’m excited about your craft space, too! Glad the video was helpful. The 12 x 12 dividers were from Stampin’ Up! and are unfortunately retired. The 12 x 12 and 8.5 x 11 plastic project folders for scraps, I believe, were from the Container Store. I would hope you could find all of these with a google search on-line!

  13. What a wonderful space. Makes me long for more room of my own. When that happens I’ll be implementing many of your tips, Mary. I especially love the labels on the bottom of the folders for your 12×12. Genius!!.

Can’t wait to see you in Atlanta.

  14. Mary, your studio is beautiful and I truly appreciate your organization. Can you share where you purchased the little plastic containers that you have attached to the ribbon holders.

    • Hi Jeanne: Those were from Ikea. Uber cheap. Not sure if they still carrying them. The are great for scissors and I even use them as mini bins for waste while I’m crafting.

  15. It’s been great to work with you on this video series, Mary! Thank you for being such a great host, and for your patience! It sure doesn’t feel like it’s been nine months since we spent that day in your studio late last December. However: As beautiful as your studio is, I think my favorite part was the fresh grapefruit juice! 🙂

      • Mary you have a beautiful home and a studio to die for! I love your organization, you inspired me with your previous studio tour and still continue to inspire me on how to organize my own studio. My room is small and I dont have room for cabinets, but I still have lots of ideas I had from you! Quick question, I noticed that your embossing folder bin is now turned to the side, does that work to accomodate the new 6X6 TIEF? I was thinking about ordering the thinlits die storage bin to hold my embossing folders, but this might do in the mean time!
Thanks so much for sharing your space with us and thank you for your continued inspiration!

        • Thank you, Shari! I love that this video and previous tips have inspired your own craft space. You are SO observant. YES, i turned my embossing folder bin side ways and it works perfectly for the 6 x 6 embossing folders, too!

  16. Well Mary, I’ve seen pictures of your studio before and even a little video glimpse some time ago when Brian King was there having fun but this video is truly amazing, it shows the fantastic organization in gorgeous detail that is a treat for the eyes.
Thank you for inviting us into your home.

  18. Wow! I loved EVERYTHING about it! Thank you for sharing! I would be interested to hear about the SS painting process. BTW – loved your shoes!

    Reply
    • Glad you enjoyed the shoes, Karen. I have practically worn them out at this point (9 months later)! The Stamp-n-Storage units were sprayed with an oil based paint. The shelves were left IN but pulled out as far as they could go without removing them. This facilitated sliding them back in place. The concern was pulling them all the way out, painting and not being able to put them again. Worked out great this way.
