A New Blog Look Coming and a Few Hiccups!

Stampin Pretty Red Tulip Stampin Up demonstrator Mary Fish

HEADS UP!  Visits to my Stampin’ Pretty blog have reached a point that I need to move to a new server that can handle the traffic (a good thing but a bit of a potential interruption to improve). The move is planned for this Friday, July 3.   My blog address will be the same but it will point to a new server.

What does this mean for you?   There may be a brief period of time where my Stampin’ Pretty blog is inaccessible or you may receive my daily email updates that are missing photos and/or looking a little wonky.  Much like updating your address at the post office, it can take a bit for everyone to get the change of address and update their records.   Most of you will see the change automatically after a few minutes.  For others, it could take as long as 48 hours depending on when your internet provider updates their list of Domain Name Servers (DNS).  You will not need to resubscribe to my Stampin’ Pretty blog updates or Pretty Perks Newsletter.

One simple fix you can try if you are having problems after 48 hours (or sooner if you like), is to clear your browser cache and type in the address bar https://stampinpretty.com.   This should redirect you and clear things up for future visits.  If clearing your cache is new to you, here are links that should help, specific to different browsers and whether you use Windows or Mac.

SNEAK PEEK!  DID I MENTION that I tweaked the look of my blog which will be waiting for you once the move is complete?  You are welcome to take a sneak peek right now. Just please remember that it won’t be fully functional until after the move Friday.  I opted for a very “simple & pretty” look so that my cards and content do most of the talking.   I hope you like it.  Thank you, Nicole and Brian Watt of Integrant Services for all your help with my graphics and technology!

If you would like to shop, my Stampin’ Up! on-line store will be available at all times. You can bookmark it HERE if you want to be able to place an order or even use the new blog (the “shop now” button is already linked and working).

I’m sure there will be a few technology hiccups during this process and am going to thank you in advance for weathering this along with me!

  1. Things look good so far, Mary! I like that everything is on the bar across the top. Good luck. We’ll keep fingers crossed for a smooth transition!!

  2. You shouldn’t need to do a thing, Maria. It all happens automatically. There may be a few that have computer settings or internet providers that are slow to update. They are the only ones that may want to clear their cache.
