Well, thanks, Mary. Now I think I need to get those craft scissors. (Just teasing!) I have often struggled to get a nice clean cut on my ribbons, and it reminds me of cutting the legs on a table to get it level–you keep cutting and cutting and then you start over with a new piece of ribbon (or table, as it were). 😉
Seriously, the craft scissors (designated only for ribbon) will cut like “buttah!”

Mary, I love to read your blog. You generously share so much information. For tying a bow, I first run a little snail on the backside of the cardstock, layer the ribbon and smooth it down. Then I turn over the c/s and tie the bow. The ribbon always lays flat on the reverse side. Similar to your hint, but I just do it one step early.
Hi Nancy: That’s another good ideas, too. I like to adhere on the back after tying because sometimes the slack occurs during the tying of the bow and I can correct it on the back side! M
Hi Mary, I love your 1 minute WOW tutorials. I have used a glue dot on the back of the bow to hold it flat. It does make it so much prettier. But on the back of the card, I tape down the ribbon first (to keep it from sagging), then bring the ribbon around front to tie my bow. Beautiful on front and on back!

GREAT TIPS Mary! My hubbyeven knows that if he comes into my studio looking for scissors (to cut some wire with…..) he NEVER uses the scissors I have a piece of ribbon attached to the handle. The ribbon is a GREAT reminder for me…..as well as ‘Others’.
Scott (my husband) also knows to ask which scissors he can or can’t use!
Congrats on your blog provider change. No glitches from here:). Love this tutorial. Would love a tutorial or to be directed to a tutorial you have already done on the actual bow tying process.

Great tips Mary, I often place a little glue dot under the actual ribbon like you showed in your video but it never occur to me to put a bit of snail on the back side and then, stretch the ribbon like that.
