1 Minute to WOW! Video. More Mosaic Madness!

Stampinup stamping pretty hooray its your day 3

As I promised on Wednesday’s post, here is another mosaic card and a 1 Minute to WOW! Video Tutorial with tips on creating a mosaic card using the Stampin’ Up! Striped Scallop Thinlits Die.

Please click on image above to play video.

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • The Basic Gray scalloped die cut provides a cool contrast against a Whisper White card base.  With shots of Bermuda Bay and Tangelo Twist, it becomes a splashy birthday card for my nephew.

  • There are many ways to adhere the Striped Scallop die cut to the card base.  My personal preference is adding tiny dots of Liquid Multipurpose Glue with a Paper-Piercing Tool (dedicated exclusively for glue) to the back.  I especially like that it’s forgiving if you are off a “smidge.”

  • Don’t you adore the touch of Tangelo Twist Thick Baker’s Twine.  The ONLY way to get this product (part of the In Color Accessory Pack) is FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration.  See all Sale-A-Bration free gift choices in one spot.  Ends March 31 (just 10 more days)!

  • A zippy piece of patterned paper from Confetti Celebration Designer Series Paper lines the Medium Whisper White Envelope.  It mirrors the scallops of the card in an artsy way!

  • Here’s Wednesday’s mosaic card using the same die, in case you missed it.  Details here.

  1. Mary, Your mosaic cards are an inspiration. I like the idea of using the die cut with white on white to look like embossing. There is so much flexibility in color choices and designs with this idea.
My favorite Stampin-Up blue is Soft Sky. It is a gentle color and is complimented with so many other colors such as Sahara Sand or So Saffron.
Thank you for all of your great ideas and videos.

  3. I’m loving the Bermuda Bay! Depending on what colors it is paired with, there is a warmth to the color or it can be a bright color. It seems very versatile.

  6. I really like these two cards. If I would have seen this before placing my Sale-a-bration order, that die would have been part of it 🙂

  8. Mary, what fun cards to make and also to receive. It’s like playing with a very colorful puzzle, the design and color choices are endless. I love how you were able to recreate that fantastic pattern in the picture of the rug you showed on your previous post using this design.
Thank you so much for sharing this truly fun and beautiful card.

  9. Hi Mary, Love both of your cards, but I’m kind of partial to the more muted colors. Both lovely! I did have a question: Did you layer the cardstock “framework” of the die onto the cardstock as a separate element? (Hope that makes sense to you.) Thanks for the inspiration. I may now just “need” that die! 😉

  12. I like thm both! Couldn’t decide which one was cuter. Love the bright colored one for a masculine card and the softer one could go so many directions from birthday to sympathy with a few minor additions. Thanks so much for sharing Mary!
