PPA234

My color palette was inspired by this week’s Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge (PPA234).  Discover what the rest of the Pals Paper Arts Resident Artists have dreamed up with this combination and play along HERE.

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • Think 1, 2, 3.  Three coordinating stamp images merge to create the layered lotus blossom.  Two are combined for the stem.

  • Even the sentiment is gracious and pretty!  Two Wisteria Wonder (Subtles) Candy Dots add a pop of interest.

  • Brushed Silver Cardstock adds interest with a rich, metallic layer.

  • A Wisteria Wonder Polka Dot pattern lines the Medium Whisper White Envelope.  It was created using a Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Magnetic Platform (for precisely lining it up), Envelope Liners Framelits Dies and Subtles Backgrounds Designer Series Paper Stack.

COMING UP TOMORROW:  I’ll share a 1 Minute to WOW! Video Tutorial demonstrating how easy it is to line up and layer the lotus blossom.  Did I mention I only needed one ink color (Night of Navy) to create that beautifully shaded flower?

  1. Mary, thanks so much for sharing this technique. It’s SO much easier using the same stamp color for each layer than trying to find three colors that work together. I don’t usually like florals, but I’ve already made lots of thank-you cards with this stamp. Just love it!

  2. Hi Cathy . . . I think you may have intended to comment on today’s post (not this lotus flower). Please head to today’s post about the calendar and check the comments. The calendar is not a stamp. However, there are lots of ideas being offered by readers on how to download them! M

  4. Your Lotus flower is fabulous – I am beginning to learn that we need to use more than one color, and not the darkest – I made my first (really third after practicing!) using Blackberry Bliss – my most favorite color….and you cannot differentiate the patterns….love your color combo and am going to mix them up going forward…love this stamp!!!! Thank you for all you do and share for/with us…HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  5. Oh, yes, Mary! We were on the same wavelength! I love the colors in your bloom and I didn’t know the stem was two-step! I thought it was a option for either one 🙂

  6. The way you used the colors from the challenge is simply beautiful. I love the lotus stamp set and can hardly wait until I can get it. I really love how you always coordinate your envelopes to your cards.

  8. Cannot wait to see how it’s done to look so nice. I have a layering stamp, used it only once because it did not turn out so good.
