New WOW! Video: Mastering Solid Images

When I first started using Stampin’ Up!’s photopolymer (clear) stamps, I struggled with getting a good image with some of the solid stamps.  A portion would be missing or ink would be uneven after stamping.  Maddening, right?  As I promised you in yesterday’s post, I  prepared a new 1 Minute to WOW Video for you today to share simple tips for mastering solid images, especially helpful when using photopolymer stamps.  There’ s no music on this video due to some technology challenges!

  1. Mary,

I’m so glad you posted the video on solid images, as I have had trouble stamping them consistently. I enjoy your blog and thank you for sharing your cards.

What a tease you are, showing a stamp set that WE will have to wait for. This set will be on my “want” list for sure.

  3. Every time I look at all the words of the Crazy About You stamp set, I come up with a new combination. “Happy Together” has me thinking of a song by the Turtles in the 60’s.

  6. Good question, Judi. Tuxedo Black Memento Ink is my “go to” for just about everything, including photopolymer stamps. My understanding is that it’s OK to use Stazon with the stamps but NOT the Stazon cleaner (this is per someone from Stampin’ Up!). I’m not sure of the best way to clean them if you DO use Stazon since I don’t go this route. Many of my fellow demonstrators feel the Memento Ink gives a much crisper image with the photopolymer stamps than Stazon.

  7. Hi Mary,
Quick question! Is it alright to use Stazon ink with the photopolymer stamps.
I was viewing another demos video and she commented that she only uses the memento ink with hers. She claimed the stazon (solvent ink) makes the Photopolymer stamps sticky???? I don’t want to ruin my stamps and I do have workshops. Thanks for all your shared tips!!

  8. Great video Mary. The first thing I do when my photopolymer arrives is to use an eraser to “erase” any residual release agent from the surface of the stamps. I have an eraser dedicated for this purpose only. After I use the eraser on the surface, I give it a good clean with the Stampin’ Scrub Pad. I never have issues with them not stamping correctly after that. However, I do use a foam pad at all times underneath my stamping surface. It makes such a difference!

  9. Honestly, I wish all our stamps had a photopolymer (clear) option. I absolutely love them. Great cling, see through abilities for placement and less expensive. The line images (sentiments, etc.) were crisp from the “get go.” Some of the solid images need a little “seasoning” which the video addresses. I get excellent results now (even better than red rubber–GASP)! Hang in there. It’s worth a a wee bit of extra effort!
