A Happy Hooray Card in Neutrals

I’m nutty about neutrals!   I used gold (very trendy right now) and a neutral palette to create a sophisticated mix!  What do you think?  Please leave me a comment below.  I love hearing from you!  6-19Sketch208This week’s Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge (PPA208) inspired my design.  Check out what the rest of the PPA Resident Artists have designed HERE and try the challenge yourself!

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • I used Stampin’ Up! Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Early Espresso cardstock for the “thanks” sentiment (A Happy Hooray stamp set).  It’s designed to be cropped perfectly with the 1 3/8″ circle punch.

  • Isn’t that little gold star the perfect embellishment for this card?  It’s from the Basics Hodgepodge Clips (new)!  I adhered the small piece of the star tucked behind the banner with Glue Dots so that it would stay in place.
  • Big and bold background!  So easy to create with the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder.  It’s definite a customer favorite and easily earned it’s spot on the list of My Favorite Things!

  • I embossed the Crumb Cake Medium Envelope with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and another image from A Happy Hooray stamp set.

  2. I liked what you did with the sketch. I love neutral colors and you used them to the nines. The star was something I would never have thought of but will now try. Thank you for all of your ideas.

  3. Oh my goodness Mary, this is one of the most beautiful masculine cards I’ve seen lately. So rich the colors, so amazing that gold embossed sentiment, the entire layout is gorgeous and the little star pin, just a wonderful detail. This one is going into my ”Masculine Cards” file right now!!
Thank you much for the inspiration.

  4. Hi Charlene: The stamp image (red rubber) is solid other than the area where the sentiment is. This way thanks (the negative part of the stamps) shows through by contrast on the Early Espresso card stock next to the gold. M

  5. This card is beautiful. I love all of SU’s neutrals and think when you combine several of them you can create a great card. Plus neutrals can work for anyone, male or female. The addition of the little star clip and the candy dots gives it that extra little punch that takes a card from good to great.
