It’s official. Stampin’ Up! is releasing the first six colors of their Blendabilities Markers for customer purchase on Tuesday, July 1. The blending and shading capabilities of these coordinated sets (I used them on today’s card) are worth the wait! Please see below for more details on which colors and assessories will be available July 1.
I’m loving this layout for this week’s Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge (PPA209).
STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:
- Isn’t this color combo fresh and simple for a summer day! I used Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Delight Blendabilities Markers to color my two flowers. Both images are from Beautiful Bunch stamp set, listed on My Favorite Things from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.
- So easy when they are meant for each other! The Cherry Cobbler flower was cropped with the coordinating Stampin’ Up! Fun Flower Punch.
- The sunflower center was cropped with a 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch and popped up on a Stampin’ Dimensional for a 3-D effect.
- Two more products from My Favorite Things list found their way on this card–Back to Black Designer Series Paper and And Many More stamp set (“happy healing”).
- I opted to use Crushed Curry Candy Dots (Regals Assortment) to pull out the deeper yellow color of the sunflower center.
BLENDABILITIES AVAILABLE JULY 1! The following Stampin’ Up! thanks, Judy. Im new to alcohol based markers, too. I just needed to find something simple that looks saturated and pretty. I can always figure out the light thing if its important to the project!
LOVE the card, striking colors, beautiful flower with coloring, blending, etc. and thanks also for the tips and making it simpler! Thank you! I don’t do so well with ‘seeing where the light is coming from and shading accordingly with blendabilities’ at all, so this is a simple plan I can understand! WOOHOO! Can’t wait to see your video too! Many thanks! Judy
Such a striking & beautiful card Mary & thank you for sharing your blendie tips. You’ve just added another stamp set to my list of must haves.
Inky wishes, Di
Wow! I’d sat you can take off the blendabilities “training wheels”. You’ve clearly mastered the technique! Gorgeous card! Thank you for persisting – it was so worth it!
A WOW! video will be coming on the Blendabilities. Once they are officially released (July 1), Stampin Up! has a good video that I will be able to share as well 🙂
Pam, you were my very first lesson with the Blendabilities (such a fun time together in My Stampin Studio) and Im so grateful. Thanks for the feedback. I think it looks pretty dishy myself and cant wait to try again! M
I would like to see a how to video with the new blender pens.
Mary, amazing job coloring the flower! I just knew that with some practice you would become an expert with the Blendabilities! Love this card. I really had lots of fun visiting and sharing with you some tips on how to use the blendabilities.
I cant tell you how much I appreciate all your kind feedback. This card took awhile (as I continue to get the hang of the Blendabilities along with many retakes of the process). Ultimately, the design was simple in concept and I like the result, too.
Hi Nancy: I have to admit this wasnt my first try on the flower (more like the 10th)! Im not familiar with alcohol based markers and how to use them so needed to experiment. With this flower, I felt I was getting the hang of the method that works best for me (dark to light) and cant wait to try more! I hope to do a WOW! video soon. M
GORGEOUS flower Mary. You did an amazing job coloring with your Blendabilities. My favorite part of this card……..The sunflower center of your flower. PERFECT!
Stunning, exquisite, gorgeous! Can’t say enough. Just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. Now . . . I’ll go back and read how you did it. Had to get this out first. 🙂
This is as beautiful as you are! WOWZERS…you did a fabulous job with the coloring…so bold yet so classic and rich! Love…love…love!Hugs my friend!
Ooh laa laa Mary! Beautiful flower: nice coloring and layering! There are so many things about your card that I love! The Candy Dots on either side of the greeting help to anchor it. The two-tone banner behind the flower helps it to stand out even more. The little sunflower on the larger flower is darling. Really cute!
