It feels so good for things to be falling into place in my new studio. I shared the photo above and others (including other parts of my new home) yesterday on my Stampin' Pretty Facebook page. Be sure to visit my page and "like" me so you don't miss my early peeks.
My Stampin' Studio has come a long way from dust, boxes and chaos. Don't you agree?
My full studio video tour won't be quite ready for a bit (still a few things to resolve). However, I put together a short video for you today that focuses on my favorite new way to store Stampin' Up! dies and embossing folders. As I mention on the video, the totes and magnet cards can be purchased through Stamp-N-Storage. The P-Touch labelmaker can be found at most office supply stores.
ENJOY the video and stay tuned for more details on My Stampin' Studio blog (coming soon). I'll still be sharing a daily dose of paper crafting on my Stampin' Pretty blog. However, My Stampin' Studio will be a dedicated spot to focus on craft space and organization tips and tricks!
I LOVE YOUR FEEDBACK so please leave me a comment below!
Hi, Mary! Great tip! Curious about those folders that your dies come in. I’m wondering if you keep those folders or if you toss them. I’ve been debating having a more open storage solution for my dies.
Hi Stacey: I keep the plastic folders and inserts in a box for when I sell them. I prefer having the magnet sheets and open storage since I use my dies so often. Hugs, M
Hi Hansi . . . I started with a basement hallway. Its amazing what can be accomplished in a small space and on a budget! Hugs, M
Mary I love the room and the OCD you have. I have it too but I am no where that good. I wish O could borrow you for a day or so to get me where I need to be. I ALWAYS put things back in the package it came in. I can not wait to see the rest of your space!!!
Your new studio is the most beautiful yet! It will be a long time before I can have a custom space in my 1930’s house, but I have been able to use some of your storage solutions from each of your Stampin Pretty spaces. The latest tip I have to thank you for is including the number of pieces on the label for each die cut set. I can’t wait to see the rest of your space!
Hi Linda: Love the idea to add the SU item numbers. I kept my plastic envelopes stored, just in case I need to sell retired framelits!
Wow!!…Mary, your studio is spectactular! I love the white cabinets. I can’t wait to see the finished studio.
Hi Mary….Great minds must think alike….I too purchased the magnetic sheets from Stampnstorage, used my Ptouch to alphabetize all my dies. The only thing I added to my label was the Stampin’ Up! item number. I didn’t purchase the beautiful boxes from Stampnstorage, I just picked up some inexpensive rectangular baskets at Michaels. I have all of my embossing folders alphabetized and in a basket too. Both baskets are next to my Big Shot so they are always at my fingertips. I love your new space and can imagine how wonderful it is to create in. Looking forward to many future posts and videos to come out of your beautiful new space!
PS…Did you keep the original plastic envelopes for the dies and embossing folders? I’ve kept them but am thinking that maybe I should just get rid of them. They are so slippery and really hard to stack. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
OMG! That’s stunning!
Excellent idea, Tina!
Thank you, Mary, for introducing me to Stamp ‘n Storage! I appreciate you! Planning to order a tote and some magnet cards myself.
Hi Judy . . . I keep them in the cabinet so they wont (at least in theory) collect dust. However, Stamp-N-Storage offers covered bins as well as the open ones. Something to consider.
Hugs, M
Wow! It is looking really good. I love the bins and how well they fit the folders and magnetic sheets. Since I craft in the living room I prefer covered storage (and less dusting involved) I’m still looking for the perfect embossing folder and metal die solution. It must be out there somewhere.
Oh wow…the shot of your stamping area looks fabulous! Thank yo for the tips on storage…I would love those magnetic cards for all of my framelits!!!! Cannot wait to see your new website and your new room completed and ready to rumble!
Thanks for the great hints. I’ve been storing my dies on magnetic sheets, but the ones I could find are weak and flimsy. I will checkout stampinstore for the ones you are using. Can’t wait to see the new website!
I put a P-Touch label on each of the embossing folders, too. I include the item number on the label so that if I have it out at a class, no one has to go look in the catalog to know what to order! Thanks so much for sharing all you’ve done in both studios. Cheers!
Awesome studio Mary,
I love all your storage
tips and I will definitely
try some to help me get better
organized. I am looking forward
to your new blog. Thanks
for sharing all your talents
too.
I am in love with your studio! It is gorgeous! Also love the storage tips!! Can’t wait to see your new blog and the rest of your studio. Thanks for sharing. ~Lisa
Wow! Wow! Wow! I wouldn’t want to make a mess in this room! Gorgeous! Thanks for
all of your sharing! Georgia
Yepee! Love your Blog and info. I know I will love your new blog.
Ill email you, Kadie . . . we should do coffee at my house and I can show it to you! Show off my new Keurig (love that thing) as well!
It is a beautiful crafting space! Enjoy.
Yes, Debbi . . . I absolutely love it.
It says model PT-70 on the back of my P-Touch, Barbara. I love it and have used it for several years. Using it this a.m. to label my embossing folders (inspired by a suggestion from one of my readers above)!
I LOVE the white chairs!!
All looks great, can’t wait to see it in person.
Your creative work and your organizational skills inspire me. Which model of P Touch do you use? Are you happy with it?
Stamp on!
Your new stamping space is wonderful. So neat and everything having its own place. Love it. I don’t use Facebook so wasn’t able to see the rest of the pics you posted :(.
I’m sure she will, Mary. I love that paper crafting was your first and only craft and you definitely have been unleashed. Took an early peak into the new site …. you logo is spot on! š
It looks fabulous. I bet you just love it.
Oh Wow Mary – what a fantastic space you have created! You are so very fortunate to be able to have the insight to design a room and then see it through until the end. You work so hard and it is wonderful to see your dream studio come to fruition, you deserve the best for sure. Thank you for all you do.
OH SO VERY PRETTY Mary! Can’t wait to see more. Look forward to our next coffee get together. Would love to hear all about your new studio.
Celia . . . I LOVE that you are using a box/tote with sentimental value. Maybe when my boxes get old (along with me), my daughter will enjoy mine the same way! Hugs, M
Absolutely *gaur-gish* Mary! I have a different label maker (Dymo) but didn’t get the storage boxes for the framelits or embossing folder as I am just not ready to part with a cabinet my Dad made for all of his years as an aeronautical engineer. My task today is to organize with everything I bought off the scratch and dent sale Brett had a couple weeks ago (just sanding burns!). Have a beautiful weekend!
Everything in its place. I love that. The storage for your embossing folders and framelits are so neat. Can’t wait for the reveal of your space. You are so organized.
I love my ink pad storage unit from stamp-n-storage!! Plus, my four 8 1/2 x 11 paper holders are amazingly handy at keeping me organized and prevent damage to my SU cardstock! I have many more storage units that I really need, but I am going slowly reorganizing my craft room.
Hi Mary: I dont have my embossing folders labeled but they will be later today! Thanks for the suggestion! M
the magnet squares for the framelits are from http://www.stampnstorage.com
I loved watching the transformation of your gorgeous room, Mary! Love the storage tips!
Mary, thanks for sharing your ideas on storing embossing folders and die cuts. Your systems makes so much sense. I have ordered from Stamp N Storage and love their products. Now I have to get busy organizing!
Amazing! Thanks for the helpful storage tips!
Mary, I really liked your first crafting space I saw but this one is even more awesome. Lot creativity will flow in that room. Thanks for the tips on the embossing folder and framelit and die storage. I am always looking for a better way and I think this might be it. Thanks for taking the time to share it. Johnnie
Wow! That is absolutely beautiful.
Mary I felt inspired by your first studio, but this room is beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I have the same die storage that I made myself, I actually wrote the names on the panel with my chalk ink pen from SU!!! BEAUTIFUL space!!!!! I hope to see you at the catalog reveal! š Lydia will be jealous! š
Love the look and how to minimize the space embossing folders and Framelets take. I too label everything, lol. Where did you get the magnetic squares for the Framelets? Fabulous ideas as always, thank you for sharing!
Mary,
How do you have your embossing folders identified? If I took mine out of their plastic, I would never remember “what is what”!
Very nice picture of the finished Studio! Love traditional architecture of this studio! These little boxes look perfect for your EF Storage & Framelits right in reach! Looking forward to the new website launch, Congratulations!
Beautiful craft studio! I love your storage ideas and design style. Those magnetic cards are terrific! I for one, truly appreciate your OCD!
Great storage, Mary!! Love the openness of your studio. I wish you lots of crafting mojo in your new space!!
P.S. How do you identify your embossing folders? I know I have a hard time remembering which is which when I have to identify mine. Do you label your folders?
