  2. For a guy – no ribbon. The simpler the better. I agree with those who said no ribbon for guy or gal. It fights with the DSP for attention.

  3. Isn’t the DSP wonderful. It’s fresh, colorful and can work for feminine or masculine designs. I really love reading your comments and am so grateful to consider your artistic eyes and ideas!

  4. No ribbon for guy or gal….is distracts from the beautiful, bold DSP. The candy dots are just enough.

  5. Hi Mary,
I didn’t think the ribbon made a difference UNTIL I saw it with ribbon then saw it without ribbon. Then it looked like something was missing. If you like one more don’t show the other, hahhahahhaha then no one will notice with or without.

  6. I’m on the fence about the ribbon, but leaning toward not having it for a guy. Twine would be a good alternative. I definitely wouldn’t have the bow. I love the stamp and the paper.

  7. Both cards are stunning, but for a guy I’d choose the one without the ribbon. I really like that DSP.

  8. Oh wow, I love the new stamp set and love love that it has framelets, woohoo! I don’t like to use ribbon on masculine cards, I would use twine. Thanks for the sneak peek. These new goodies are going right to the top of my wish list!

  9. It’s amazing how a small piece of ribbon makes such a difference in the looks of the card! I like both ways, but for a guy, I would go without.

  10. I love this colorful card. I prefer with the ribbon as it gives the card a nice horizontal line all the way across. It makes it pop. I think even with the ribbon it is perfect for a man. I also like that it has both the faux brad tops (LOVE those things) and a ribbon. I’ve been chincy with my embellishments lately and this is a good wake up call that you can use more than one type per card!

  11. I think the ribbon is distracting from the designer paper. Great card! Love your simple, clean card-making style.

  12. What a gorgeous geometric design and LOVE that new bubble sentiment! I will have to vote no ribbon because in my mind it detracts from the awesome graphic papers and sentiment.

  13. Wow! I, too, am on the fence with this one, but I’m a “more” than less girl and I always pile it on…hehehe! I’m saying either way because I love both versions!

  14. I love your clean and simple style but do NOT love the ribbon for a masculine card. IMO the dsp has enough interest.

  15. I think the card looks great without the ribbon, but that would be left to the stamper’s preference. Really like the patterned paper!

  16. The card is great! I prefer the one without the ribbon for male or female. To me the ribbon detracts. The patterns and colors of paper are strong enough that ribbon isn’t needed. The candy dots are perfect finishing touch.

  17. Love the Designer Paper…ideal for a guy. Since the ribbon is rather straightforward and in a “guy” color, I think it works. A feminine color and a bow might not.

Colors and designs are bold, very masculine. Nice going!

  18. I like the ribbon on this card..perfect place and the thinness of the ribbon works well with the boldness of the card! Love this DSP!

  19. I prefer the ribbon, but after reading the comments perhaps for a man I would skip the ribbon. The boldness of the colors and patterns is fantastic.

  20. Especially for a man, I prefer the card without the ribbon, but love the candy dot embellishment to soften the linear look.

  21. For what it’s worth….I asked my guy! He said the card was beautiful both ways (right answer), HOWEVER… That the strength of the geometric design was lost by adding the bow. Clean and simple for a man…And “bowie”??? (his word) for a gal.

  22. It’s funny . . . I really liked the first version (without) until I caught the ribbon out of the corner of my eye (perfect color in Bermuda Bay) and decided to try it. I’m on the fence but am watching your feedback for direction!

  23. Hi Mary. Both cards are perfect; my preference is the one with the ribbon. And, because it’s a knot, not a bow, it’s perfectly fine for a man. I will be CASEing this card soon 😉 Thank you for the inspiration 🙂

  24. Both versions are beautiful but the card with the ribbon looks more finished.
And I agree, if it was a bow it could be for a lady but with just the knot it can be for a man. Love this cards that can be used both ways, masculine cards are often hard to create. You are always right on the money with them, Mary. Thank you, this one goes into the Masculine Cards file!!

  25. I think the ribbon really “ties” it up. How about baker’s twine for the masculine card? The Word Bubble Bundle will be getting a lot of use in my craft room.

  26. Hi Mary,I have been following your email for quite sometime. I decided it is time to let you know. Your work is absolutely stunning, I love the ribbon on this card. I think it gives the card a finished look. The color is perfect. I’d definitely give it to a guy.

  27. I like it without the ribbon and love the three-dimensional look of the geometric print. The colors really make this card.

  28. I think the ribbon “girlied” it up. It was very geometric and sleek – with edge. The ribbon softened it up. Without. Love the color combo.

  29. Dear Mary, I love the bright colors for this card. It is such a great color combination for a male card. I love the bubble framlets and the saying. I think the ribbon is great. I also think the card is great without the ribbon. I could go either way. Thank you for always giving us great ideas for our stamping. Happy Stamping. Hugs, Ellen Hinds

  30. I also like without the ribbon. I’m a fan of clean and simple and think the ribbon divides the card into too many sections and makes it a bit busy for my taste.

  31. Looks like I’m in the minority here, but I think it’s perfect without the ribbon. I just can’t make myself add ribbon to a card for a male, twine maybe. Perhaps I need therapy?

  32. The ribbon gives it the “wow”, love it without for a masculine card like the previous poster said. As always thanks for you inspiration!!

  33. Mary, IMHO your card doesn’t look ‘finished’ without the ribbon. And it doesn’t have a bow, just a knot, so I consider it masculine enough for a guy. Go for it, girl! ;o)
