Gorgeous Grunge Get Well Card

Stampin up stampinup stampin it pretty buy order gorgeous grunge get well card idea
This past weekend I had a chance to get together with members of my Stampin’ Pretty Pals Community in Phoenix, AZ.  Pal Mary Lou Glick prepared four amazing make & takes including this hand stamped “Gorgeous Grunge” Get Well Card.  The design is based on a tutorial by Christine Pyrch.

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • I might as well confess immediately.  I “schmutzed” when adding the “grunge” and accidentally covered part of the get well.  Sometimes stamping and chatting at the same time don’t mix!Stampin up stampinup stampin it pretty buy order gorgeous grunge get well card ideas
  • Fortunately, there was an easy “recovery.”  Once I got home, I restamped the Perfectly Penned sentiment and cropped it with the Stampin’ Up! Extra-Large Oval Punch.  It’s popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and layered over the original mistake.  What’s below is our little secret!

  • Random Candy Dots add a pop of color and texture.  Reminds me of confetti.  How about you?
  • The Stampin’ Up! Gorgeous Grunge stamp set (available in Wood-Mount OR Clear-Mount) allows you the freedom to play with color and get very painterly effects!  I’m diggin’ it!

  1. Thanks for admitting that stampers as good as you make mistakes too. It nice when we can find a way to fix an “oops”.

  2. Great card & thanks for showing us how you fixed your “mistake.” I like this set. One little note about the cute dots. I found that some of the color rubbed off on a few of mine so I coated them with clear nail polish – they look great. Thanks for always inspiring us & congrats on your 500K in sales.

  3. Mary, love the card…..Love your confession. Really like the extra layer. In the early days, I was a simpler, quicker, stamper. I would have customers try to peek under layers of a card trying to find my mistake. They knew extra layers meant the more mistakes I was covering up.

  4. Actually, I think both cards were beautiful. If you actually had a spill or “oops” it would have gotten on your lettering. Both cards are exceptional.

  6. Mary, I personally think that your mistake card looked great too. I liked the grunge look through and through. It all “flows” together. So natural. If you hadn’t said anything I bet no one would have thought it a “mistake”.

  7. I couldn’t agree more with what Martie said — no mistakes in stamping – only opportunities to improvise and improve!

  9. Great recovery, Mary!! I actually like the card better with the propped up sentiment. This stamp set will be in my October order, I have to confess that, when I first saw it, it didn’t really make an impression on me but, I’ve seen amazing cards made with it and slowly but surely, this stamps grew on me. Thank you for sharing yet another fabulous card using this fabulous set.
