Big, Bold, Birthday Candles “Four” You

Stampin up stampinup birthday candles bird builder punch mary fish order stamp it card ideas
This trio of snappy, patterned candles is quick to make and delivers bold impact!  I used this week’s Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge (PPA171) for inspiration.  I replaced Very Vanilla in the combo with Whisper White to coordinate with the patterned paper.6a00e54f95df928834019aff52998f970c

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • The Four You stamp set includes four versatile sentiments (images below) with crisp, modern fonts.  A “must have” stamping basic!
  • The card base measures 4″ (not 4 1/4″) x 5 1/2″  I trimmed the width by 1/4″ to 4″ to allow the flagged ends to extend beyond the base but still fit in a Stampin’ Up! Medium Envelope (107301).
  • Each candle base measures 1/2″ x 3″.
  • Mingling Calypso Coral patterns was a snap with Stampin’ Up! Subtles Collection Designer Series Paper Stack.

  3. Oh, Sweet Mary! I just LOVE this. I’ve thought about doing this very thing…but always pulled out flower punches and never gave a second look to the Bird Builder!

Yet again, you do some thinking for me! Great Card!

  4. Love it! Great idea to use the Bird Wing from the builder punch on the flames. I used to used a petal from the flower builder and was looking for an alternative. Thanks Mary!

  5. Mary, what a fantastic card, you are the master at these.
Love the flame tip, hadn’t seen that before.

  6. Love this card. Thank you for sharing and for the tip on using the bird wing as a flame. Brillant. 🙂 I love learning multiple uses for punches.

  7. I love the card, the more so because of the clever uses for punches. I enjoy getting out all (well, maybe not ALL) my punches and trying to reconfigure them to create something other than what they are originally intended for. Makes the stamping thing even more fun, right?

  8. You are right about the bold impact! A beautiful CAS card! THank you for sharing your tips! Always helpful!

  9. I love this card too Mary, I have the Birthday Candles Wheel and I think I can CASE your card using it. I love the soft colors and the use of the Bird Builder punch (the wing) for the candle’s flame is FABULOUS!!!!! I appreciate so much when you share your fantastic ideas and tips with us.
