Simple Masculine Card With or Without Gorgeous Grunge

Those little triangles are the “remains” of snipping some flagged ends (for another card you’ll see soon).  I love being able to repurpose the little bits and pieces of patterned paper (Etcetera Designer Series Paper).  Triangles provide snappy paper crafting “architecture.”

My first version uses the Stampin’ Up! Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  The “grunge” images are very “hot” right now and delightful to layer and play with.  I stamped off (stamped on another piece of paper first before stamping on the card stock) to soften and layer the images.

I first experimented on a piece of scratch paper to practice how I would lay out the images.

The second card has a cleaner look but the simplicity is still spot on for a masculine card.  A Neutrals Designer Button and a touch of Natural Linen Thread add a quick and simple embellishment.

  1. Beautiful cards Mary. The grunge is my favorite. I’m not really a clean and simple card maker and the grunge adds just enough pizzazz. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Gorgeous Grunge didn’t catch my eye the first time I saw it in the new catalog but now, after seeing this set used several times, it’s growing on me for sure. I love the splatters and the horizontal lines the best. Your cards are fabulous Mary, thanks for showing this truly cool stamp set on one of your super cool creations.

  3. The gorgeous grunge is my favorite. I need to stamp off when stampin more to gain this softer pigment look. Great inspiration today Mary. Thank you.
