Ready for a fun and fabulous joy-fold card?  A joyfold card is simply two intersecting cards.

My base card began
with an 8 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Pool Party card stock which was
scored with my Stampin’ Up! Simply Scored Scoring Tool at 5 1/2″.  The
smaller card was cut to 8″ x 3″ and scored at 4″.  I love our Stampin’ Trimmer (126889) for projects like this, don’t you?  Fit them together and voila!PoolStarfruitLimeade

My color inspiration was from the palette above, provided by the Pals Paper Arts Resident Artists.  Check out what the rest of the PPA team has dreamed up with these colors and play along HERE!

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • Paper Piercing around the butterflies is simple and adds an enormous WOW! factor.  The butterfly template is part of the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack.  Don’t forget the Stampin’ Pierce Mat for the perfect piercing platform.

  1. What a fun card! I love everything about it, the fold, the piercing around the butterflies – all of it. Thanks Mary.

  2. Your joyfold card is a joy to behold! I love those butterflies with the brads and piercing.

  3. Bula from Fiji. Sorry for the typo on the measurements of the smaller card. It should be 8 x 3 (not 4) and scored at 4″.

  4. Searched for “joy-fold” on Mary’s site and found correct details in several earlier posts using this fold. She also gives a link to Splitcoast for original idea.

  5. I too think there is something wrong with the measurements. I hope Mary will let us know soon, love this style.

  6. What a fun card. Thank you for sharing the instructions to go with it. I’m still trying to get used to the Summer Starfruit color!

  7. Beautiful card! Love all the amazing “Mary” details like the paper piercing. What a fun Joy-fold card.

  8. Oh my, what a gorgeous card!!! But Richard you are right there is something wrong with the measurements. Not only would a 4X4 card be square but it would be only 1/8″ from top and bottom edge of a card 4.25″ tall. I’m sure Mary will clarify the measurments for all of us once she returns from Figi.

  9. Beautiful cheery colors in combination with an innovative card design. Can’t wait to try this!

  13. LOVE the WOW Factor the SU! Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack made around the butterfly. I honestly have to pull that out and use it more.

Hope you are enjoying Fiji……Thanks for Sharing!

  14. oooooooh, I should’ve paid more attention in math class. Mary, you say the inside card is 8″x4″, folded on at 4″. Shouldn’t that make a square? I know I’m missing something here…

  15. Lovely card Mary, the colors are so Spring like and the piercing really adds so much dimension to the butterflies. I love the Joy Fold technique, it’s like two cards in one. Thank you for the measurements for this beauty.
    Maria.

  16. WOW Mary, this is lovely. I can’t wait to get this punch and the Papillon Potpourri stamp set this month. The colors are really so Spring like and I absolutely love the Joy Fold technique, thank you so much for the dimensions for this beauty.
    Maria.

  17. You did a great job with a really tough color combo. I just don’t care for those colors together…but somehow, you did your Stampin’ Pretty magic and made it work. Well done!

  18. Very nice. I believe the piercing really finished the card..Thanks for sharing your idea on colors very hard to use together.

  19. The paper piercing, the butterfly brads, and the antique brads — all stunning details!

  20. Your card looks like the colors in my yard! So many flowers in bloom! You are living up to your name…pretty!
