There’s often little time to create a sympathy card.   However, the power of loving words and a prompt handmade card can mean so much.  Today’s card is simple but delivers a caring message (Stampin’ Up! Love & Sympathy) both inside and out.

    • Thank you so much for asking. Unfortunately, the stamp set is retired. However, there are pretty flower/stem stamps still available that would function the same way. Consider You’ve Got This or Touches of Texture stamp sets as alternatives.

  4. Hi Tricia . . . Thank you for your kind words. I’m sorry to hear about your loss. I don’t have the card anymore (it went to the father of dear friends of ours who lost their mom/his wife). I’m going to estimate for you just by looking at it. The card base is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. The Crumb Cake Layer is approx. 3 1/4 x 4 1/2. Each layer on top of it gets 1/4″ inch smaller (both directions) so the top layer for the sentiment should be approx. 2 3/4 x 4. Hugs, Mary

  6. What a perfect, card, Mary! You said it – classy. But also subtle and serene. Just the right tone for an elegant sympathy card. Wonderful sentiment too. This is one of my favorite sets b/c of the beautiful art. Thanks for the inpsiration. Have a great weekend!

  7. Sahara Sand has been my least-used colors of all the neutrals, but it really does look wonderful with Very Vanilla. It gives the perfect mood for a sympathy card and I can see it for masculine themes, wedding cards, or any occasion for which the sender wants to convey calm, quiet seriousness.

  9. I usually make 2-3 sympathy cards at a time so I always have 1 on hand when needed. A lot of time is saved thus way ’cause I’m not trying to make all the elements come together & the supplies are already out.

  10. Beautiful card – it means so much more when receiving a hand-crafted card. I just wish I knew more people who craft as I very rarely get one myself! Boo-hoo.

  14. Elegantly done! The color combination is perfect; I like the way the panels are a little smaller so you can run the ribbon underneath the way you did. Simply wonderful (as usual)!

  17. You are right, Mary. When I’m are faced with the sad news of someone’s passing, I know that a hand made card is more meaningful than a store bought one but then you want the card to be subtle and without to much embellishments and this card and this stamp set are perfect for that.
    Thank you.
    Maria.
