Linda C’s Surprise Blog Hop

Linda's Hop Badge
Linda Callahan, a member of my Stampin’ Pretty Pals, is going to be a grandma for the first time.  Some of her blogger friends and I are surprising and honoring her today with a special blog hop and tribute to grandmothers.   Congratulations, Linda!

The next stop on the hop is Cindy Hall.

All the hoppers (above) were asked to share something that reminds us of our own grandmothers?a lesson taught, favorite colors, a memory.  The colors for my card for Linda were inspired by the vibrant china that was my  grandmother’s, then my mother’s and now mine.  Precious on so many levels.

The little elephant is from Stampin’ Up! “A Fitting Occasion” stamp set.  I used new 2012-2014 In Colors Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals and Summer Starfruit.  They are so striking against a crisp, Whisper White background!

  1. MY GOD MARY! You look just like your grandmother. I love this kind of pic. They are such old pic and yet so beautiful one. I too have some nice one of my mom, AS a matter of fact on Mother?s day. We wrote a nice poem for my mom, put her in the center her four kids on the bottom and all around her 11 grandchildren. Again Very nice pic

  2. What a beautiful post, Mary! I just love the photo of your grandmother with your mom. Wow! I was trusted with a lot of old family photos and I always enjoy looking through them. I have portraits of my great-great-grandmother and I absolutely treasure them. Your card is gorgeous! Love the color combo inspired by that beautiful china…I’m writing that one down, for sure. Hope you had a great weekend! Hugs! 🙂

  3. Hi Mary, All the cards were just delightful! I am often not able to participate in the blog hops on the day that they are featured because I am busy with my girls and sometimes trying to follow them after the fact is a little hard. Many of the links go to the blogs home page which shows the latest post and not necessarily the post that is part of the blog hop. This is just a suggestion but I think it would be great to have the link go to the specific blog post as sometimes I give up searching for the correct post before ever finding it. Maybe is isn’t possible to set it up that way but many times I have wished it was easier to “hop along.” Have a great week:)
