Update on Lily Grace

Lily-feb2012Lily Grace and her dad, Justin, my nephew.

6a00e54f95df9288340168ea7b8320970c-500wiThank you for all your well wishes for my little grand niece, Lily Grace.  I have passed them along to her family, too.

Lily Grace had heart surgery several weeks ago and, in true toddler fashion, is doing amazingly well.  Here’s my original post.  From her grandma (my sister, Laurie):  She goes back in a month for a follow up and needs antibiotics for the next six months only for any invasive procedures. Otherwise, there’s follow up every six months and then yearly to be sure the hole is still closed as she grows. The occluder scars over in a few weeks to complete the seal. The hole was slightly bigger than the doctor thought so it was fate that they choose to get it over with.

  16. Lily is so beautiful, what gorgeous eyes. Thanks for the update, many prayer will continue for her.

  17. I have a 15 year old boy who has had 3 open heart surgeries thus far, and continues to thrive every single God given day. I am always amazed at how resilient a fighter my son is.(And all the children we meet on our hospital stays.) Children don’t know any better than to just keep on doing their thing, a day at a time. I am tickled pink to hear another positive story. You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers, you, Lily Grace, and her family. God Bless!

  18. Oh Mary, the only thing I can say is “Praise God from whom all blessings flow.” Thank God for her successful surgery and I’ll pray for a complete recovery. I am a SU! demonstrator from New Jersey, and I have followed you for quite some time now. I love your work. I will continue to pray for you and your family, as I’m sure many of your SU! family members have been doing. Have a great evening.

  19. So so so happy to hear she is doing well…. Lily Grace has such a pretty face… does she wear ribbons & lace?… with a strong heart she will run at a fast pace… and win every race… that is why God blessed her with His Grace… =)

  20. Oh Mary, she is the prettiest little girl I have ever seen and those eyes! I’m so glad she is doing well. I will keep her in my prayers that she continues to do well.

  21. What a beautiful family. I pray she continues to recover quickly and completely. God is good!! 🙂

  22. What a beautiful child. Glad to hear all is going well. Miracles still occur. And we’re all family in this crafting world, now aren’t we? 🙂 May continued blessings be upon your family.

  23. I’m so glad that Lily Grace is doing well. My grand-nephew is 7 months old and he also has a whole in his heart. He was a twin ( boy and girl) and they were born too soon. Easton has had a hard time at first but seems to be doing better. Not sure when they will surgery but the family prays every day for him. Babies and toddlers are just so amazing. I have grandchildern and just don’t know what I would do without either one.
God bless to you and your family.

  24. so glad to hear Lily Grace is doing well…kids are just amazing in the way they heal and bounce back! How awesome they were able to identify the issue and repair it so early….my brother (age 52) had a stroke this fall (thankfully doing well…a miracle in itself!) but they determined the cause was a never detected hole in his heart which had clotted over and eventually the clot broke loose causing the stroke. WOW! Nobody ever knew he even had it! Since then I have heard many similar stories so Lily Grace is truly blessed to have this problem identified and corrected early on.

  25. So glad she is doing so well; we will continuing praying for her good health! What a lovely little girl! 🙂

  26. Oh, Mary, she’s a doll!!! TFS the story so we can add to hear prayer chain to help her through this. Glad she was able to have the surgery while she was too young to be scared. Best wishes to Lily and your entire family for a speedy recovery.

  27. Fabulous news about Lily Grace (love her name!!!)…my great nephew had the same surgery at about the same age – he is 11 now and so incredibly ‘normal’….glad they decided to have the surgery…they won’t reget it. Thank you for the update – she is just tooo adorable!

  28. God Bless your little Lily Grace – what a beauty like her Dad! I’m happy the operation was successful. I will keep your family in my prayers.

  29. What a beautiful little girl; she has her daddy’s eyes! Interesting that her middle name is Grace. TFS the update, Mary. I am so happy that she is doing well; it is amazing how quickly they can heal. Will keep Lily and family in my prayers. Thank Heaven for today’s medical advancements. Our granddaughter had a hole repair in her heart when she was 3 years old and is now a very healthy 12 year old.

  30. What an adorable little girl with such a beautiful name! I am glad she is recovering so well!

  31. What a beautiful little girl. May God grant her a speedy recovery and no more health problems. She’s one lucky girl to have an aunt like you who can share her story and help keep her in prayers.

  32. She looks so very precious. Little ones should not have to go through any of the things that a lot of them have been through. Will keep Lily Grace and all the family in my thoughts and prayers.
