Summer Smooches for a Teenage Boy

Stampin up birthday party this way rubber stamps card idea masculine saleabration

Oh, those hard to design for teenage boys!  My nephew has a birthday this month and I find teenage boys some of the trickiest to create handmade cards for.  My advice?  Keep it simple, crisp and colorful.  For example, instead of the ribbon and bow suggested in today’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (MOJO232), I opted for a strip of Basic Black card stock and a bold Tangerine Tango arrow.

 STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • SNEAK PEEK ALERT!  That seriously cool Island Indigo paper pattern is from Stampin’ Up! Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper.  It will be available in the 2012-2013 Stampin’ Up! Catalog (June 1) and as a special pre-order opportunity for customers in April.
  • My Paper Snips navigated the curves of the balloons and angles of the arrows with ease.  Both are popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

  10. Hi Mary – I’m so happy Party This Way was one of my SAB choices since I just love your card today. My Grandsons turn 23 and 25 in the next month and I usually have to really put my mind to work finding an age appropriate card for them. You’ve given me great ideas! Thanks!

  11. Love it! You do such a great job with cards for boyz to men. I have a few of those around and never seem to have an idea of how to card them. Thanks again and again!

  13. This is definitely bold and brash Mary. I love it. I have learnt so many simple things since I started subscribing to your blog. It may seem obvious…..but to a seasoned procrastinator….it is nice to be reminded. Fab card.
