Petite Purse Backpack: Easy as A B C!

Many of you guessed from my sneak peek yesterday that I “whittled” a backpack from the new Stampin’ Up! Petite Purse Bigz L Die.  Bravo!  You were right!  The backpack measures approx. 2 7/8″ x 1 7/8″ x 1 3/8″  and can easily handle a small gift, coins, a treat or even a little love note for a lunch box!

SUMMER SMOOCHES PROMOTION STARTS APRIL 1!  The Petite Purse Bigz L Die will be available in the 2012-2013 Stampin’ Up! Catalog on June 1.  However, customers will have a special opportunity to pre-order the die and other cool new products from the Summer Smooches collection, April 1 through April 30.  See Stampin’ Up! Summer Smooches Brochure and Details.

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight and Real Red are perfect for a school theme.  Anyone else reminded of the Madeline books?  Bonjour!
  • I used a 1 3/4″ Circle Punch (cut in half) for the top “pocket” and the Extra-Large Oval Punch (cut in half) for the bottom pocket.  Both are popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a 3-D effect.
  • I used Stampin’ Up! Sticky Strip to adhere the ribbon in back and assemble the backpack (just two spots on the backpack–very simple engineering).

  • The mini card measures  2 3/4″ square.  It does not fit inside the backpack (that’s reserved for treats).  Cool thing . . . the Sweet Shoppe Alphabet Lower stamp set letters fit perfectly within a 1/2″ Circle Punch.
