Another Peek at You’re My Type

As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I receive a monthly magazine that's full of creative ideas.  In this month's issue, I saw the typewriter from the "You're My Type" stamp set (available in the Occasions Mini Catalog Jan. 4) with a simple flower resting on it.  I adored the idea and had to spin my own little version!  Here's a previous sample using the same typewriter stamp.

  • The Black Oval Scallop Frame helped define the "white space" of the card without giving up the simplicity.
  • Large solid stamps like the typewriter, can sometimes leave an open ink area when stamped.  I enlisted a Blender Pen and a little Basic Black ink to fill in any gaps.  Layer ink gradually.  Watch my Blender Pen Ink Fix Video Tutorial to learn more.
  • The tiny leaf began with a circle cropped with the circle punch from the Stampin' Up! Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.   I "fished"  the circle back in the same punch adhered to a scrap of paper and cropped it into the leaf shape.

  1. Chantal, you could always type the sentiments in French in your My Digital Studio program, print them out then use them with the typewriter stamp to make your cards!

Nice idea, Joyce . . . thanks for adding it to the conversation! Hugs, Mary

  2. Black and white – simply gorgeous! And the surprise of color with the flower; perfectly done! TFS!

  3. Superb! I wish this stamp set was translated in French. I would have bought it already too.

  4. Clean, crisp, and a great take on those black and white photos we’re seeing with a pop of color. LOVE IT!!!

  5. Cathy from Illinois

Love the black with the flower “popping” right out of the card! Just love the ideas from you! Thanks!

  6. Okay Mary – Yet another stamp set I did not pre-order and am thinking I might have to sneak one more order in before the end of the year. AWESOME CARD Girlfriend – and many thanks for putting your own spin on this card with your flower. OH SO PRETTY!
